I agree LOL, it really isn't good for Iraq's image.. but having a thread like this can protect people from buying into scams etc.

Samawa, the capital city of the al-Muthana province, lies 280 km south of Baghdad.

Almayali AL Muthanna governor has searched with the authorized manager of Ber Senjar & Gardinia Real Estate Investments ''the available Investment opportunities in AL Muthanna province '' .During the meeting , which was attended by M.I.C Deputy Director General & number of members of the Board ,they reached to a tentative agreement with AL Sheekh Hathal AL Hayali the member of the Board of AL Warkaa Bank to execute the project of AL Samawa Palace Hotel which it was decided to implement by British Investment Bara dice Company but it lagged in its legal obligations that lead to withdraw the Investment license .the authorized manager for Ber Senjar & Gardinia Real Estate Investments has remembered that there is a big desire to execute the project and in full support from AL warkaa Bank and he added that AL Muthanna is in very urgent to this project .This project will sustain and develop the tourism & building reality in the province.

I see. I still dont se how that justifies it :p Is there any uptades for this anywhere? No website? I wish they were more open about it, i dont know what there intentions are. I hope they are pure.

Ok he said in 2010 that it should be completed in the next 3 years.... we have 1 more year and nothing is constructed?

I don't think it's a scam but I think it's been cancelled or probably put on hold until further notice..

It's been 2 years and construction hasn't even started so it's definitely one of the above.

what's everyone's thoughts on this ? keep it as it is, or move it to BC ?
