Medicity tops GMADA’s priority list
Authorities will auction plots to private players in the medicare hub soon

Medicity project in Mullanpur tops the priority list of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA).

Apart from developing various roads under the Mullanpur master plan, the authorities will soon auction plots to private players in the medicare hub that has been planned over 97 acres to the north of the PGI, Chandigarh.

The development follows a meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal, regarding the status of development projects in Mohali area. It is learnt that the PCA officials have also been asked to speed up the construction of cricket stadium at Mullanpur before the next World Cup.

Sources in GMADA said though the PGI had also sought land in the Medicity, the government was keen on giving the land to certain private players in the medical care sector who already had stakes in Punjab. The medi care hub will have hospital complexes, infrastructure for the allied services, and also residential complexes for their staff within the campus. It will be self-contained campus, with the best of housing facilities for doctors and other hospital staff members within the area. The mode of transfer of land to the hospitals was being worked out.

The government was keen to develop Mullanpur as one of India’s best medical hubs. Besides, the widening of the Mullanpur-Siswan road has already begun and a survey has been started to under take planning of the Mullanpur Ecocity.

Mullanpur master plan

As per the Mullanpur master plan, a state-of-the-art health village, knowledge village and eco-tourism related activities have been planned on the foothills of Shivalik Hills. Consultants for the project, Jurong Ltd, has proposed recreational facilities like amusement park, spa village, open-air theatres, theme parks and lifestyle hub, including a golf course and sports facilities, around the seasonal rivulets passing through the area. Only low-density urbanisation has been recommended. Due to proximity of the area to Chandigarh, the Medicity has been planned along the Chandigarh-Siswan-Baddi road.

Hey guys, do you remember Suncity Parikrama? A 18 story Project in sector-20 Panchkula?
Well I went to that place 2 weeks back. Already 6 towers have reached 18 Floors and several others have reached 12-15 floors! When i asked the project incharge, he told me that the whole project would be completed in 1.5 Year from now! Isnt it great! I have also taken some pictures..

Construction of rail underbridge near Mauli Jagran begins

The work for construction of the rail under bridge near Mauli Jagran started on Friday. The road has been closed for traffic for nine months. Once the construction is completed, it will provide another route for commuters to reach Panchkula. The road on the stretch had been widened several months back. However with the construction of RUB not having been undertaken, it was not feasible to use the stretch.

While the construction has been undertaken by the Railways, the cost has been shared with the UT Administration. The proposal had been in the pipeline for several years, but was hitting one road block after the other. Recently after all clearances were received, the tenders were floated and work has been started.

The commuters to and from Panchkula do not have many options where routes are concerned. While Chandigarh is connected to Mohali through several roads, there are not many to Panchkula. This leads to traffic congestion on the road from Madhya Marg towards the Housing Board lightpoint especially during morning and evening hours.

CHANDIGARH: The Deputy Chief Minister Punjab S. Sukhbir Singh Badal will lay the foundation stone of 10-storey building INSTACON to be constructed in 48 hours on November 29 in the Industrial Phase I of SAS Nagar (Mohali).

While referring about the salient features of 10 storey building the brain behind the project, S. Harpal Singh maintained that this is the first building of its kind in the country first of its kind in India, is unique in many ways. He further said that all the components were manufactured in the factory, pre-fitted with floors, water supply, wirings, sanitation, air conditioning ducts and everything else. These are then shifted in state-of-the-art transporting vehicles to the actual site for installation.

S. Harpal Singh added that “The ultra fast mechanism helps save energy in quantums in comparison to traditional construction methods. One can get revenues from the investment within days. Though the cost is almost the same as incurred using conventional techniques, there is lot of gain in saving man-days of work and terms of manpower days and overcoming inflationary increases”.

He maintained that this technology as it unfolded today has vast potential to totally revolutionize the much-needed Infrastructure Technology in the country by rapidly speeding up the construction of Commercial towers, Luxury hotels, High-rise buildings, Hospitals, Educational institutions, Universities and Retail outlets.

He urged the planners, architects, engineers, builders, infrastructure developers, hoteliers to come and see themselves the unique and modern innovative technology is being adopted by the INSTACON.
