This is easily my favorite proposed skyscraper for New York during the last decade. It beats 400 Park Ave and 56 Leonard handidly, in my opinion.

I do not see why removing skyscraper heights in the city, more precisely in the Big Apple.

This tower is not being lowered.

what makes this tower better is its position in the skyline, around Madison park. There aren't many skyscrapers there so it would stand out if built.
You would also get the contrast between old and new with this and the MetLife Tower

I agree. Maybe Tower Verre, but I think I'd give the edge to this over even TV. Something can't be more than a couple years away with Elad behind this.

I like this photo on Liebeskind's website which show the detailing of the "cut-away" section.

The only buildings uglier than this in NYC are Beaver House and 4TS.

I actually kinda like this building. It's unconventional, but in a good meaning of the word. In my opinion this is how nature should be implemented into a skyscraper. I would be very happy if this project would be revived, it's definitely better than that abomination 56 Leonard

This design is good, only I think it looks better when standing in the Tribeca or two bridges area.

- Dead -

Enormous NIMBY pushback coupled with 2008 crash left this innovative but troubled development in a lurch. Will be debated for years to come...but it ain't getting built.

Will leave it with this big render from SSP:
