These shops are not on Doha though so its a welcome sign for the northern regions of Qatar

I agree. It attracts different clientelles than Carrefour per say.

I gave this mall a visit today,

it's actully a nice place for Alkhor, I mean you have basic shops and then you have cafe's to chill, a food court to eat, and omg a cinema and a children amusement center in Alkhor, it's a step forward

The mall was EMPTY and the staff are friendly.
