If it is clad in treated copper alloy then it could be an excellent building; but plastic will probably look awful.

Brilliant stuff. Same it can't be extended over the existing corner building like a wrap over.

This is the kind of thing I have been advocating. We get the large floorplates clients want on top, but the street level maintains its charm and visual interest.

those before and after pictures are beautiful, perhaps too beautiful because they are making the demolished elements of this development far too attractive!

Riverwalk House in Vauxhall (45m tall) is under demolition.
![]() It's to be replaced by this: ![]() ![]() Though I don't think it has attained planning permission yet, the proposed residential tower would be 57m tall. http://tradescant.blogspot.co.uk/201...-millbank.html |

The soon to be demolished building looks miles better, and that's saying something. I'd suggest not replacing the building given the location. Yes, there is a multi-storey building on the other side of the bridge, but I think this tiny stretch of waterfront would look better without the high density building proposed, just leave it as an open space (albeit for the need of er, making money out of the site
)

It's so good to see that horrible building being replacing, nonetheless I'm not quite sure about the new one, let's hope for high quality materials.

Cheers. For a minute I thought that 5.5 million towards affordable housing was the reason for that detached smaller tower element. But then I realised it would be too much for a developer to handle, building affordable housing with a prime river front view.

![]() I love the new look of Portland House. It looks clean, white, and minimal, with no random cladding anywhere. It will also be one of the best addresses in the world.

AHMM submits revised plans for Camden market 17 September 2012 Camden councillors vote in favour of revised proposals after Make dropped from scheme AHMM’s second attempt at securing planning permission for its controversial Hawley Wharf proposals has won the backing of Camden Council. Councillors voted in favour of developer Stanley Sidings’ scheme last week. It will now be referred to London mayor Boris Johnson for a final decision. AHMM’s revised plans for Camden market- aerial masterplan AHMM was commissioned to work on the project alone after joint proposals drawn up with Make Architects were rejected earlier this year. Changes to the scheme included reducing the massing of the buildings and increasing the amount of open space across the site. The scheme is divided into four main areas: A canal market and workshop building with two public open spaces. A residential building and primary school which includes a renovated grade II listed building. A mixed use quarter containing residential, employment uses, retail and leisure. A building containing residential and employment uses. Work is expected to start on-site late next year.
