Don't forget the initial trailblazers Uptown: Uptown Place and Cheney Place.

According to Ustler's website, yes. I actually really liked that infill proposal; I hope it is reborn after his O&C project takes off.

...which brings me back to a former question: is the O&C project moving forward?

New "Affordable Housing" mid-rise may be coming to the west side of I-4. (Non Creative Village related) More like City View.

So glad to see a new tower going up, even if it is small. =) And the performing arts center is looking great!
I am going to try and take some pics...there are rarely updates in Orlando

The Skyhouse construction looks to be on the 4th level. You may be able to see it from I-4 now.

in fact, from the Plaza, you can see that they are already working on the 4th level above the lobby level. they may be doing more than a floor per week.

what a gap filler that's going to be in the skyline.

between the Skyhouse, Steelhouse, and the GDC project, that's about 1,000 or so residential units; and all three projects are u/c.

Once The Sevens 9-story project gets underway (not sure when), that will add even more (another 300 or so?).

The empty southeast corner lot at Livingston/Orange is key to this area, both in terms of visible density and connectivity. The Plus One proposal from several years ago would have been a fantastic addition to the streetscape and skyline (yes it was a poor man's Esprito Santo Plaza, but I still liked it). I believe that proposal was a luxury condo building -- entirely wrong for that corner. I don't know who would actually pay those prices to live at that intersection. Apartments, however, that is another story. I could easily see this proposal resurrected as an apartment building. Given the market we are in, it seems plausible.

Might be coming sooner than we think.

I bet you that once the Lynx Sunrail Rida development gets closer and closer to being underway, someone will try to capitalize on that location (Plus One).

Maybe that's what he meant. I was just hoping he had a juicy tidbit.

I haven't heard anything. but then again, I was shocked when they announced, approved, and began construction on Skyhouse. I still am. I'm hoping once its done, they'll scout nearby to build a sister tower. it's going up quick. the fourth residential level is fully up and they are building the pylons for the 5th level on the south side of the tower.

So hopefully going forward our we start building again and Orlando can grow much faster again. We could have an impressive skyline if we build taller and have more density.

But it doesn't seem like Orlandoans are clamoring to go denser and taller.

Magic Asks for Extension on Entertainment Complex

Looks like this is the final time they will get an extension.

I wonder what's really behind the extension ? Are they struggling to find a way to make it work ?

Denser may be fine, I don't think they really care how tall developments are in the city. Unlike us folks on here, they could likely care less if a 40 floor+ tower was proposed for the downtown area.
