I thought people might be interested in this, im not sure if this is the right place to post this though. So let me know.

Anyways, im making this for a mod im making for crysis 2. Its set in 2036, and im also making an open world nyc for the mod, you can check out the storyline and details here http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=308&t=80261

I have added buildings like the Aon center, and many more recognizable chicago buildings after these photos, my gaming pc isn't working right now, or I would get some pics of the updated skyline, but this is what I have right now.

Here is a full skyline pic, it looks much better then this now, but like I said, i can't get pics since my gaming pc isn't working

Every building on this street looks extremely similar to the real version.

on the second pic, the tall blue building is based off of the 7 south dearborn proposal for chicago, and the tall one near it with the green lighting is one i designed, and i also designed the silver one with the blue lighting, here are a few pics of it





Once it's finished, it will have all the recognizable buildings, especially trump international tower, john hancock etc..

I also forgot to mention that you will be able to go inside certain buildings like the northern trust building, UBS tower, blue cross blue shield tower, 340 on the park, and many more. You will also be able to get to the rooftops. It will be very accurate, from the parks like millenium park, to the walkways along lake shore drive. You will be able to swim in lake Michigan, drive cars, and do a lot more.

I love BF3, and its the best looking game I have ever played. But, they haven't released the Frostbite 2 engine because of EA most likely, thats why their haven't been any mods for it. But Cryengine 3 is actually just as good as FB2, crysis 2 just didn't use its full potential. I have some pics for this mod that look almost photorealistic





Notice the light pattern on this building, it actually has multiple colors that flash back and forth and all 3 spires also flash back and forth with different colors, it looks amazing at night, especially from the rooftops. A lot of the buildings have some type of lighting, the sears has bright red lighting.


Here is another real life vs game comparison, the game version now has a bunch of objects in it now like moving cars, phone booths, news stands, and actually has the exact same object placement as the real life version, but again this is an old pic

Yeah, im trying to be as accurate as possible. Also, Chicago is one of my favorite cities, so its important to keep it very accurate for me. Im making nyc now too, and Im trying to keep it accurate as well, especially after realizing how it wasn't accurate at all in Crysis 2.

Haha, the john hancock isn't in there yet ! I have someone on my team for this mod making it, trump, and a ton of other buildings.

Nope, thats the sears. I made that building with changed crysis 2 assets, and it looks pretty good, but its a little too wide on the top part of the side, so I think I am going to just make a model of the sears, since that will be more high quality. This is one of the reasons i am really upset I can't use my gaming pc right now, the skyline looks much better now, and includes a much better Aon tower, 340 on the park, blue cross blue shield tower, UBS tower. I also have the elevated street level, and stuff like the cancer survival garden at millenium park finshed.
