Beautiful!!! Those slants will create some really nice reflections and angles. Can't wait!

Vile pile, good riddance!

Ok, that is similar, but I meant within ny. I think this will be a great addition to the skyline because it is a unique design and it also has the perfect height for the design imo.

It will definately become a landmark since it stands alone.

According to the 3 January 2012 edition of the NY Observer. The shape has changed somewhat. The angular lines have become curves, and the tower is described as "undulating."

Bad news, I liked the original angular line design

With Another Luxury Tower, 57th Street Becoming Manhattan’s New Gold Coast

"... The Observer has learned that a long-planned 57-story tower at 250 East 57th Street, on the corner of Second Avenue, is set to rise this year...

... But now it is clear the tower will go forward as originally advertized, reaching a height of 57 stories and 715 feet. There are 270 units in the building, down from an earlier reported number of 320—not a surprising trend, given the evolution toward bigger, more luxurious apartments in the city over the past decade. Bigger layouts mean bigger price tags...

... In an email in late December, John Marino, a spokesman for World-Wide, said “there is really nothing new to report… they are coming out of the ground next year.” He did confirm that SOM was still the architect, but also noted that new designs are in the works. A source who had seen the newer designs said the building is more curvaceous than the angular renderings that had been previously shown off. “It undulates,” this person said..."

Great news! So how many projects are under way at 57th street?

- 225 W 57th St / 472m
- 432 Park Ave (exit to 57th St) / 426m
- One57 aka 157 W 57th St / 306m
- 250 E 57th St / 218m
- 107 W 57th St / 212m
- 625 W 57th St / 142m

... and all residential, crazy.

Anything to add?

425 Park Ave should be close to 57th street since 432 Park Ave is on 57th street. It should be 209 meters without the fins iirc

That one is not at 57th.
So it will be curved, maybe that is good, maybe worse, I will see.

Also the Willow Hotel at 120 West 57th, which is nearing completion, and there's a renovation underway on the building at the corner of 57th and 6th (I do believe it's a hotel, as well). There's also the proposal at 600 W 57th (I think?) that is very close to the pyramid, and will be a ~50 story residential tower.

this was posted way back, seems like there's less slope but it could be the angle

That render has angled straight lines but according to Bob it should have curves now.
