Wow...what is that building at the end of the street in the Sheraton Shot.. it looks almost like a court house or some historical government building. I pass it all the time but it just fell in line with the other gray matter of the super block et al.. In this shot it looks really nice...

Interesting.. the second shot is of Cross Keys.. which is one of the best kept secret hoods in the City... The third short of the midrise on Falls Road and Northern Parkway reminds me of a highrise housing project from the 1960s though I believe its a condo

I live near Cross Keys, go to the doctor and dentist there...it's a wax museum, completely introverted, sorta like a mausoleum for the living. It's a well kept secret because nobody ever seems to come in or go out...kinda creepy.

It also appears that most of the folks that live there are...well.. old possibly late boomers and older..though I have seen a few young folks around.. but You are right its kind of insular. It could be more dynamic with more energy but I get a feeling that like it the way it is......

I dont know if this is being planned or not by the City Planners or just reflective of the development boom-bust over the years.. But in a couple of those postcard shots its hard not to see that the Cityscape is kind of monocromatic in terms of brick, concrete and masonary.. and less glass and steel like you see in places like Charlotte or Atlanta.. I think that that is kind of cool since it makes the cityscape blend from the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries...

Cross Keys is definitely not my type of neighborhood. Very cold and uninviting. It's good that Baltimore has a diverse collection of neighborhoods, though. Lots of choices is a good thing!

Where did you take this shot from? Edit: Never mind I see the photo is taken by someone else, I wonder where he took this shot from could it have been an aerial shot by helicopter? |

Had to be by helicopter...there is no vantage point that high in the city. It's also several years old. Legg and Four Seasons are not present.

Nothing all that spectacular photography-wise but this is my view of the skyline from my rooftop deck on a hot August evening last summer. This pic doesn't do the view justice...the sights in all directions from that spot are pretty damn cool. EDIT: You can see the lights from Camden Yards near the middle of the picture, just to the right of Harbor East
