nasa old Ceres Terminal in Bacolod na daw ang lahat ng mga old St. Jude units, nakatambak lang daw don.

anyway, AFAIK, Vallacar Transit Inc. was sending at least 10 units daw to Bohol per week since October, all non-aircon units for the Tagbilaran-Talibon via Carmen route and Tagbilaran-Ubay via Jagna route.

Plus, is it possible too to expand bus services to serve more major corridors sa Metro? Halata ko, karamihan ng mga bus, sa EDSA dumadaan... Konti lang sa C5.

mas maganda kung mala-london o hongkong style ang buses dito sa bansa kagaya ng Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB)

A little OT.

I dont think so, my point is this, the lead agency that would rationalize the bus

system in manila is the MMDA. The private owner of the bus operating in manila

would constitute as a member or board of directors for MMDA bus operation.

All buses will be employed with smart card system, MMDA Central Operation

and monitoring center will be employed with Automated Vehicle Management

system for reliability and punctuality. Now each of the owner of the bus fleet

after the end of the month, they will retrieved on the bus fleet computer

system the total amount of transaction the smart card system stored in thier

bus fleet, this would constitute as receiving payment for their claim to

MMDA central operation. It will be responsibility of MMDA to collect all the

revenues get from the selling of smart card to the public, and to remit a

money to the bus operator. As long as all the stakeholder are pro

active this can be done.

if that's the case, could a smart card (like Oyster in Hong Kong or Clipper here in San Francisco) be created and be used not only on the LRT and MRT, but also for the buses as well? I mean, I have another idea: what about consolidating all the private bus companies and be operated under the auspices of either the MMDA or a new transit agency, in which the routes can be contracted out to the private companies operating along EDSA and around the Metro, similar to the set-up in London?

That is possible but no one has made the move to do it. But if a smart card system is in effect, most likely it would be used for both LRT or MRT.

There is similar system but is done by cell phone. It's called the G-Pass for those who are use Globe. It's on the MRT.

Yes, under this system, they can do that by MMDA and DOTC integrating the

smart card system into central computer system, which could worked

seamlessly on all mode of land transport system even to include marine

transportation such as water taxi or ferries.

First, city buses are banned on C-5. The only exceptions are buses plying the Eastwood City-Resorts World Manila route which serves NAIA-3, and the bus between Market! Market! and Alabang.

Anyway, I suggested this a few months ago:

Quote:
Originally Posted by Sky Harbor View Post
Revising the numbering system to accommodate more routes (and to incorporate jeepney routes):

1xx: buses going through EDSA
2xx: north-south routes (buses and jeepneys) going through the City of Manila
3xx: east-west routes (buses and jeepneys) going through the City of Manila
4xx: north-south routes (buses and jeepneys) neither going through EDSA nor the City of Manila*
5xx: east-west routes (buses and jeepneys) neither going through EDSA nor the City of Manila*
6xx: "local" routes (jeepney routes entirely within the City of Manila)**
7xx: "local" routes (buses and jeepneys in CAMANAVA)***
8xx: "local" routes (buses and jeepneys in eastern Metro Manila)***
9xx: "local" routes (buses and jeepneys in southern Metro Manila)***

*4xx and 5xx routes must either cross the Pasig River, or cross district boundaries, to be classified as such.
**Jeepney routes within the City of Manila cross the Pasig River, so it has its own separate classification.
***These routes must not leave their designated districts to be classified as such. "Eastern Metro Manila" here refers to all of Metro Manila north of the Pasig River, excluding CAMANAVA. "Southern Metro Manila" refers to all of Metro Manila south of the Pasig River outside the City of Manila.

There will also be other types of routes:

Exx: express routes (on high-density routes, basically an alternative to the Manila BRT system)
Sxx: substitute routes when the LRT/MRT/PNR is closed (Sxx routes will stop only at LRT/MRT/PNR stations).
Nxx: night routes
Txx: tourist routes

Bus routes will still be numbered according to distance: the longest routes get the lowest numbers, and the shortest routes get the highest.
I also suggested the gradual phase-in of standard two-door city buses metro-wide. If the bus operators balk, the LTFRB can grant route monopolies to operators to recoup their investment, with revenues to be shared between the MMDA (which maintains the network) and the operator.
