The NCC (New Cuffe Parade) project can be changed to U/C now. These pics were taken today and tried to cover the area from different angles. Notice rebar sticking out of the ground and EC-B Leibher cranes all over the place.

Why Lodha Group wants to expand presence in retail sector

Premium residential property developer Lodha plans to expand its presence in the sector by adding more malls to its profile.

“We have plans for expanding our portfolio in the retail sector. We already have a mall in Thane and another is under construction in Dombivali (a Mumbai suburb). Now we are looking at developing one more in central Mumbai,” Lodha Group Managing Director Abhisheck Lodha told PTI today.

The mall in Dombivali, spread over 500,000 sqft, is expected to be completed in the next six months, he said.”The third mall will come up in central Mumbai, where we already have our land,” Lodha said.

Lodha Group currently has a lank bank of around 4,500 acres in and around Mumbai, he said. Asked whether the company is looking at any more deals for buying land, Lodha said, “We continuously evaluate opportunities, but nothing has been finalised so far.”

In August, Lodha bought a 17-acre land parcel in the Worli area of Mumbai from DLF for Rs 2,727 crore. Meanwhile, the company has tied up with a property design and marketing company, yoo, co-founded by interior design experts John Hitchcox and Philippe Starck, for designing its 63-storey premium residential project Lodha Evoq at New Cuffe Parade.

Asked about the revenue sharing model in the tie-up, Lodha said, “It will be a mix of fee and sharing of some percentage of the revenues.”

Lodha Brings Exclusive Designs by the World’s Most Innovative Design Company ‘yoo inspired by Starck’ @ 63 Storey Luxury Tower, Lodha Evoq, New Cuffe Parade, Mumbai

* Lodha Evoq nestled in New Cuffe Parade, Mumbai's new city centre - Rs. 10,000 Cr mega development located in MMRDA’s 250+ acre Masterplan near the IMAX Dome. * Only location in the city where the monorail, metro rail and high quality road connectivity, through the new Eastern Freeway and the Eastern Express Highway, all come together.

Living Dining inimitable iconoclastic style
When you enter your home at Lodha Evoq, it will open the doors of your imagination. From the iconoclastic living room to the inspiring bedrooms, to the metallic-gold bathroom, everything bears the unmistakable signature of yoo inspired by Starck.

Mumbai, India (PRWEB UK) 13 October 2012
Lodha Group, India’s finest luxury developer, is proud to announce their exclusive partnership with yoo inspired by Starck, the world’s most innovative design company, to launch Mumbai’s first signature residences that bear the mark of the world’s most iconic designer: Philippe Starck.
yoo inspired by Starck is designing the residences and common spaces of Lodha Evoq; a 63 storey luxury tower, ensconced within Mumbai’s new city center: New Cuffe Parade. It boasts exclusive designer residences with private pools & gardens and select penthouses featuring personal elevators and private pools, all with interiors by yoo inspired by Starck. This is the first yoo inspired by Starck project in Mumbai.
Philippe Starck is so versatile that he is revered as the God of Design. From lamps and kitchen equipment to museums and hotels, his creations exude imagination and originality. His designs reflect a bold, almost rebellious style that is at once startling and individualistic – tinged with poetry and humour. Each design stemming from his philosophy - "Everywhere, I'm looking to reach elegance and intelligence." And it is this philosophy that has transformed even ordinary objects into revered designs, making him a living legend. Lodha Evoq is the tallest building in the world for which he has designed the interiors.
The genius of the world’s most celebrated designer, Philippe Starck and the expertise of the world’s most celebrated design company, yoo, come together as one entity, yoo inspired by Starck, to create living spaces that are unique, thrilling and inspirational. Since 1999, the yoo design studio has been responsible for the design of superluxury residences in over 31 countries that transform homes, into works of art.
Speaking at the launch of Lodha Evoq at New Cuffe Parade, Phillipe Starck says “Mumbai is the centre of style. Juxtaposition of colours, textures and patterns based on Mumbai's long tradition of textiles has been the inspiration for your new building, your new life, your new home.” But it is not only about the design element; Philippe Starck believes in what New Cuffe Parade stands for – Life at its best, and says “What is life at its best? Perfect place to not only work, but to relax, be happy, more intelligent, and more connected with your neighbours, friends & family. In this place you will have more poetry, more vision, more humour - something that will transform your life. It's something special.”
To translate this vision into reality, world renowned partners have been chosen for New Cuffe Parade. Be it the architectural genius of WOHA, one of the most awarded firms or manicured landscapes by Sitetectonix, from Singapore. And lastly, to guarantee immaculate on-time construction, India’s truly global infrastructure & construction powerhouse, Larsen & Toubro, has been entrusted with the responsibility to deliver the tower from start to end.
Speaking of the rise of such development in Mumbai and their plans, John Hitchcox, Chairman, yoo and known as the Muiccia Prada of the property industry, says “Mumbai has always been on our radar, the thriving metropolis and business capital of one of the world’s fastest growing economies. It is just that we took time to search for the perfect partner for translating our vision in to a reality of global standards as we thought that there definitely was a need gap we could fulfil. And then a couple of years back, the Lodha Group happened and we could not have struck a better partnership. Purveyors of luxury in Mumbai, they have path breaking developments already to their name, and we thought we could create something exciting here together. So two years down the line we have two joint projects, each of them very unique. And with the involvement of my close friend Philippe, I am sure this will create ripples in the Mumbai luxury real estate space.”
Abhisheck Lodha, Managing Director of the Lodha Group, says: “It is a privilege for us to partner with yoo inspired by Starck, famous for unique developments across the globe, for designing the interiors of Lodha Evoq. We are committed to providing our customers with excellence in luxury living and we intend to ensure that every single element respects the best standards of quality and aesthetics. Lodha Evoq is designed for the lifestyles of those who know exactly what they want in life and are open to boldly expressing their choices. The vivid colours, multiple décor themes and the passion of yoo inspired by Starck, make Lodha Evoq the perfect place to Live Bold.”
Talking about the residences designed by yoo inspired by Starck he says, “When you enter your home at Lodha Evoq, it will open the doors of your imagination. From the iconoclastic living room to the inspiring bedrooms, to the metallic-gold bathroom, everything bears the unmistakable signature of yoo inspired by Starck. And the experience continues outside of the residence too, with the grand entrance lobby, the stylish club lounge, the glitzy alfresco party venue – every element of this 63-storey tower is designed to make a bold statement, about your lifestyle, about you.
And rightly put by Mr. Starck “Architecture affects your life. Bad design can make you miserable.” So here is a signature residence designed by the world’s most iconic design firm, yoo inspired by Starck; in a brilliantly designed architectural masterpiece; set in a meticulously planned, landmark city centre – if you had to make a statement to the world, Lodha Evoq would be the most effective way to do it.
The tower is located in the heart of the city at New Cuffe Parade, near the IMAX Dome, and will boast of having the metro, monorail and eastern freeway at its doorsteps. The tower will offer uninterrupted panoramic views of the sea and the city’s skyline, including the Bandra Worli Sea-link. Designed to include every comfort, convenience and luxury, New Cuffe Parade will be a blend of the most refined residences, workplaces, luxury retail and leisure facilities, with over 15 acres of open spaces & recreational facilities including 11 swimming pools, 5 gardens, restaurants, an organic farm, a 75,000 sq.ft. clubhouse and so on; creating a unique city centre.

All,

I came across this article that appears to be quite disturbing especially if youve ended up buying a unit in this project. Have you guys seen it?

I live at bhakti park - short distance away from the proposed site for new cuffe parade. Its not even miles near to the horror story narrated in this article. And if you have booked a flat here - relax.

This may not be the best or cheapest place in Mumbai - but definitely value for money.

Yea, Lodha doesn't own the other remaining land but has been slyly marketing NCP as if they own it all. MMRDA still has to make a definitive call on what they'll be doing with it. Maybe they're waiting for Lodha's project to be substantially constructed so that the land price increases.
