I was surprised to see that the grey bldg in the center of image 3387 is part of the group that will be demolished so as to double the size of the park.

I had to Google that, I couldn't quite believe it. That's pretty upsetting. Redmond has plenty of park space. A small urban park would be cool, but I don't see what good some big empty black hole of a park would do. Brown Street Square (the grey building) is one of those buildings that makes Redmond attractive in the first place.

There's no need to make a huge grassy lot smack-dab in the middle of taller apartments.

They should target Subway and that furniture store first before going after the Brown Street commercial.

Those are also going to be demolished, IIRC.

Just a gut check....that is s mass of bent rebar, some parts of which had already been set in the concrete for the second floor?

It looks like the wet weight of concrete (as it's called) was too much for the shoring and it gave way during the pour. Happens too often.

http://seattletimes.com/html/localne...ualmie06m.html This might be even too far east to qualify as Eastside, but Snoqualmie Valley casino is planning a major expansion including a 20-story hotel. I'm honestly not sure what to think about it... Does a new huge high-rise hotel at an already popular casino way out towards North Bend still qualify as sprawl? In any case I don't really understand why they'd want to build so far up when they have so much land, but the comment "A 20-story high-rise in the middle of a bucolic rural valley is not quite in keeping with the nature of the valley" seems a little off when it is right next to a freeway that does a whole lot more damage to the local environment than any one building could ever do.

Ehhh I think they could do better. Build something resembling a lodge or something. Does it have to be a Vegas-style hotel to attract tourists?

Issaquah approved plans for 125' buildings. A 2,000 mega development also possible.

Maybe you should have stopped to read the sign.

Thanks for pointing that out I would never have thought of it. It was not one of the big white signs with details but just a small one not a lot of info.........it was pouring, I was driving south on the other side of the street and was craving a smoothie more than wanting to park
