This is arguably one of the best possible banners as of now.

Old and new in the same picture. The Tigris River in the background and a palm tree that dominate the greenery in Baghdad.

I think we should ask MG for a banner, may be he could take a good snap of Baghdads skyline.

Well taste is personal. But I personally like the historical landmark, the palm tree, the Tigris River in the background, the bridge and the modern buildings in the background. I think there is a nice contrast. There are not really any skyscrapers in Baghdad and most banners don't use them either.

Can we get some other suggestions please?

Which picture of Baghdad is able to incorporate both the old and new part of Baghdad, the Tigris River and greenery (a palm tree) without looking like a mess or as a little unclear aerial shot?

Do you want some random hotel as the banner of Baghdad? What about the Green Zone? Is that all it has to offer?

I thought using a HISTORICAL LANDMARK in Baghdad that gave it glory and eternal admiration would be met positively but I guess some pointless blocks are preferred or that soulless Baghdad Tower?

We might as well use the Ishtar Hotel. Such a "special" hotel that really sets Baghdad apart from other cities. Nice architecture as well.

Agree that would be excellent as well. We simply NEED to have historical landmarks. That what sets Baghdad apart from certain cities in the region that i am not going to mention here.

The Baghdad Tower and Isthar Hotel might be "modern" but I think it is disrespectful to use them as symbols of Baghdad over those old and glorious ones. That's not what Baghdad is all about.

Even religious places of worship would be better to use than those two symbols. I am mentioning it because people wanted to include them as banners which I think is a really bad idea.

When people think of Baghdad (those with a historical knowledge) they don't think about such monuments in connection with Baghdad.
