Can't they change the location of the stadium?Or is the current one too good to move?

Besiktas as club and fans want to stay at the Besiktas district and the current stadium area is the only available free area.

The club is already heavily in debt, right? Just wondering how they're financing the stadium rebuild.

I think sponsorship + the money from the suites.
At least that was the plan 1 year ago

Trust me, Besiktas has still a lot of members of the club who have enough money and therefore can help the club (although, the club already needed help..). Besides they are already cutting a lot of costs, the club shares are also in the + on the stock exchange. But the main plan is indeed a sponsorship deal with one or multiple firms.

The city government or Besiktas municipality should help as well. This region were the stadium is now, has so much potential. The road behind the Kapali stand should be underground for example. This is were the municipality should step in and help instead of just giving permissions (finally after a decade).

Are you sure the city / government will help?
Because the sports minister already said "stadium will be financed by the club. We just helped this project by giving the bus station are at the north of the stadium"

No thats my point. They should help like I mentioned above. This region is so important for Turkey, Istanbul, trafic and also for tourists. Thatswhy the city should help to improve the environment as well (like stated above: the road behind Kapali underground). A pedestrian bridge above the road infront of Dolmabahce clocktower, this because of everyone coming from Kadikoy and going to by ferry. During the matchdays the roads are just full with fans and because of that, the traffic is like hell and not only during matchdays. During normal days its also difficult to cross the road. A nice underground passage + bridge will atleast help to improve it a lot. (A leonardo da vinci style bridge for example..).

Shortly summarized: Its not about the stadium itself, but also the environment of the stadium that needs a small investment and improvement.

But this is just the problem of the Turks in general. A lack of vision, planning and also taste.

Yeah it's gonna go like this, but I think they have problems with finding a good location for the exits in this area. I'm pretty sure the exits in this pic are cancelled.

Upper tier looks pretty steep. What's the maximum rake allowed in Turkey?

There is no limit
I think even 45° is allowed. But like many new stadiums i think the upper tier will be between 34° and 37°.

I just did a quick calculation and it gave me the upper tier as being 37 degrees.

But I think this concept is among the best ever presented for Inonu, if not the very best. Simple, elegant, more fitting the neighb ourhood than any other I've seen.
