Everyone, please read, important notice:
This thread is intended to be moved to our great fresh Urban Renewal and Redevelopment forum. Please go to this new subforum and bring it to life! You could easily create threads like "WARSAW | Urban Renewal News" or "SPAIN | Urban Squares & Parks Revitalization News" and so on. Feel free to create specific threads for all kinds of renewal projects. It'll get a lot of attention there soon, since it's an index page forum ![]() Since we're not only talking about European classic architecture here, but also urban traffic modernizations, street furniture, designs of squares and parks, cultural aspects, riverfront redevelopments, etc... In short: This thread is about urban renewal and revitalization.

yeaah I was this September in Sarajevo and I was shocked how in well condition city is now. It's really hard to notice any serious damages. It's kept very well. I liked the Museum of Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand despite it's rather small one.

Splendid. Now some new pavements and maybe a pedestrian boulevard along the river and Sarajevo's center would look breathtaking.

Lubiaz Abbey in Lower Silesia, Poland.
The abbey, established in 1175, is one of the largest Christian architectural complexes in the world (biggest in Europe). Since 1989, the abbey has been under renovation, mostly through donation money. This is world class craftsmanship. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The roof has been done already. ![]() ![]() Click on this: http://www.zieba.wroclaw.pl/lubiaz_qtvr_main.html

Lubiaz Abbey is truly splendid. Do you know when renovation is expected to be largely finished? Or when at least the exterior will be restored again?
Nonetheless, I seriously doubt that this is the largest "Christian architectural complex" in Europe.

I think even in Poland there are larger Christian architectural complexes, like Jasna Góra sanctuary, or (ugly as hell) Licheń.

![]() Work continues on this building but it is funded through donations. It will be many years before it's all done. The roof has been restored. Anyways, it has become a significant tourist destination. Each year in early June, Festival of alternative culture takes place here.
