Reno & Lake Tahoe in the Fall
We took a vacation from Hawaii to California this past October. Most Hawaiians visit southern California and Las Vegas (called the 9th Island). We took the northern route to Reno, Lake Tahoe, and San Francisco.
Here are my skyline pictures of Reno, Nevada's second-largest city. Reno makes quite an entrance from I-80 eastbound Heading into downtown Reno We chose the Eldorado hotel and casino downtown. The rooms were pretty nice and the buffet surprisingly good Downtown from our room What? We took our kids to Reno? What kind of parents are we? Let's just say we thought of them: They spent more money than we did And had a much better haul After the kids fell asleep, I wandered the deserted streets. And to think, this city was once a competitor to Vegas. The Silver Legacy is the most recent downtown casino, built in 1995. Think off all that's sprouted in Vegas since then Out and about the next morning Actually looks pretty lively from this angle Truckee Riverfront was pretty nice. Reno is trying to reinvent itself. Lake Tahoe pictures to follow. In the meantime, take a look at our Picasa Album of our trip (complete with maps): https://picasaweb.google.com/KidzFrisco
