Total passenger traffic at Vnukovo airport has been increased on 18% since January 2012

In October 2012 Vnukovo International Airport handled 13 900 flights that is 12,5% more than in October last year. It served more than 847 000 passengers, that corresponds to the increase on 17,6% respectively in comparison with 2011.

In October Vnukovo Airport served 509,000 passengers on domestic flights. Over the last year domestic route map of the airport has expanded flight destinations and today it includes 67 cities.

The largest increase of passenger traffic on domestic flights is recorded for flights of UTair.

Red Wings Airline continued to expand its route network in Russia. Traffic has also increased for Yakutia and for Rossia airlines. The most popular destinations in October have been Krasnodar, Makhachkala, Ufa, Rostov-on-Don and St. Petersburg.

Moreover, passenger traffic on scheduled international flights has increased significantly. For this period according to the central schedule Vnukovo served 222 thousand passengers on international flights, that corresponds to the increase on 115,3% than in October 2011. Over the past 12 months since last November new scheduled flights to 23 foreign cities have been opened:
Bratislava, Tallinn, Krivoy Rog (UTair airline), Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Dusseldorf (Lufthansa), Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya (Turkish Airlines), Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu (Blue Bird Airways), Tel Aviv , Rome, Milan, Venice, Pardubice, London (Transaero Airlines), Paris (Transaero Airlines and Aigle Azur), Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk (Aerosvit), Tbilisi (Georgian Airways), Dresden (Yakutia).

14 airlines served international flights according to the central schedule. UTair airline has increased passengers traffic on scheduled international flights three times and has provided about a third of passenger traffic of the airport. In November new international carriers at Vnukovo (Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Transaero, Armavia, Aerosvit, Georgian Airways, Aigle Azur) handled out of Vnukovo more than 100 thousand passengers in this transportation sector.

During the first ten months of this year the airport served 130,300 flights and almost 8.3 million passengers that corresponds to the increase on 8.7% and 18.4% respectively in comparison with 2011.

Easyjet starting spring 2013 will launch new flights from Manchester to Moscow Domodedovo, minimum 4 times a week. It will be first direct connection between two cities.

New Version of DME Live: Be Ready for the landing of A380!

In early November, Moscow Domodedovo Airport released a long-awaited update of its interactive application DME Live: The game is available for free download on the official web-site of the airport and through the App Store for the operating systems MS Windows, MacOS and iOS.

Opening the door to the fascinating world of aviation, DME Live offers its users to try to manage the largest airport in Russia and Eastern Europe. Players are to ensure the operative handling of aircrafts: In order to do this it is necessary to allocate aircrafts on its parking area in the most appropriate way, to load in-flight catering and baggage on time, deliver passengers on board as well as to handle cargo. The updated version of the application offers additional options for ground handling, for example, a player defines how much fuel is required for refueling depending on the aircraft type.

One month before the opening of scheduled commercial flights, the biggest passenger aircraft A380 will start its regular flights to the virtual Domodedovo Airport. In the game, like in reality, the handling of this aircraft type is organized through a special ramp located at the apron parking and marked "A380".

Now it is possible to share the achievements in managing the airport with friends, thanks to the support of the application by the Game Center technology which, upon registration, allows the users to participate in the leaders' rating and get awards.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia in terms of passenger traffic. In 2011, total passenger traffic of the airport amounted to 25,701,610 people which let Domodedovo to become the first Russian airport to join the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI). Domodedovo is the base airport in Russia for member airlines of two largest global airline alliances - oneworld and Star Alliance. Moscow Domodedovo Airport tops the list of the best airports in Eastern Europe in terms of the service quality, according to the annual survey by the independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).

Barcelona arrived to Vnukovo (20.11.2012)









On 18th of November at Vnukovo International Airport FC Barcelona arrived by the flight of Turkish Airlines in order to participate in match with the Russian football club Spartak in the fifth round of the group stage of the Champions League.

In 2010 Turkish Airlines has already signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with FC Barcelona. Addressing to the press at Vnukovo airport, Mephil Deribas, head of JSC Turkish Airlines in the Russian Federation, stated that sponsorship cooperation with such international football clubs as Manchester United and Barcelona and professional athletes like Kobe Bryant, basketball NBA player, and Caroline Wozniacki, a former World № 1 on the WTA Tour. He pointed out that such cooperation contributes to the development and recognition of the brand of the airline in the world.

Fans equipped with scarves, T-shirts and other accessories with the symbol of the club met FC "Barcelona" players at the Vnukovo airport. Besides players and coaching staff club president Sandro Rosell; club president; and Andoni Zubizarreta, sporting director, came to Moscow.

Unfortunately, at passport control Francesc Fabregas, a midfielder FC Barcelona, had problem with russian visa. Taking into consideration the importance of the upcoming match for both teams, the Vnukovo airport contacted the consular service, which only in one hour has received official confirmation from FC Spartak on the purpose of visit of Fabregas. After then football player received visa for one entry to the territory of the Russian Federation.

Sheremetyevo joined the first group on the classification of airports ACI Europe. New record was set in Sheremetyevo today, December 13, 2012.

Sheremetyevo International Airport is the first time in its history, served more than 25 million passengers since the beginning of the year. Meeting "historic passenger" was held today, December 13, 2012, in Terminal E.

25 million passengers, marking a new stage in the development of airport, were recorded on the flight KL 904 Moscow-Amsterdam by KLM. The honor of being "anniversary passengers" of Sheremetyevo was shared by a charming young couple, Andrei and Nadezhda, who flew to the capital of the Netherlands on vacation. As a gift from Sheremetyevo they got a coffee break with a Russian TV screen star Tutta Larsen, as well as a unique opportunity to visit the airport management center.

25 million passengers were congratulated by representatives of Sheremetyevo Airport, as well as the regional representative of Air France KLM at Sheremetyevo Airport Pierre Noel Gauthier.

Sheremetyevo Airport shows a steady increase in the number of passengers. It is planned that up to the end of 2012 Sheremetyevo will serve more than 26 million passengers, which will be a new historical high for the airport.

Yesterday, Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo arrived in Moscow, where they will attend the opening of Terminal A of Vnukovo International Airport on 18 December.

On Wednesday, 19 December 2012, Jose Carreras will give a private benefit concert with Placido Domingo at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. It will be their first joint concert since the death of Luciano Pavarotti.
