That's all...There is another park of the same type being developed north of the Gandhi Bridge on the western side, unfortunately could not go there as I could not find the access road. All I saw were the artistic steel fencing which was done on the previous park too.

Thanks Again, Rushabh.

That riverside road looks a lot like Storrow Drive in Boston...which I won't be missing when I move back

Sorry to troll on the feelgood factor of the project...

But I feel that the West River Drive is too narrow... hardly 1.5 lanes... whereas ashram road is 3 lanes each side... Any idea why they have designed the WRD undercapacity ?

It seems to have been designed just to take the express traffic off Ashram Road; i.e. those who are travelling long distances, say from Vasna to Shahibaug or Airport. With under-passes below every bridge, people will have a smooth and uninterrupted ride (unlike Ashram Road). And on the East side there is no continuous road like the Ashram Rd, so the East River Drive will again serve as an express road for people wanting to cover long distances...

But I do think that they could have made the road a bit wider wherever they are proposing commercial buildings, coz 4 lanes wont be enough in the future...

Man...
One truly spectacular and massive project is taking shape in Ahmedabad... I wish this is replicated in other cities of Gujarat too...

I just hope that some low class ppl of Ahmedabad doesn't spoil this project with one thing which frustrates (and irritates) me the most... 'Pan pichkari' in the corners..

Thank god.. atleast haven't seen them yet in the pics till now and hope it continues to just excel day by day...

I think these river side roads (along with some other parallel artery roads) as "parkway" equivalent in Gujarati.

In Boston/NY area, trucks and commercial traffic is excluded on parkways.

The quality of finish is good. This model should be applied to many cities.

I have a question regarding the access to the riverfront. Is it free for all, or you have to pay a fee to enter ?
