Also, coming from direction Ingolstadt, are there some nice places to maybe stop on the way? Iäm guessing D5 is the best road to get there, but maybe there are other (scenic) roads to take, if I would have the time.

The monastery at Kladruby near Stříbro is a nice sight along the D5.
But don't visit Stříbro itself as the city square is undergoing large-scale reconstruction.

You get great views all along Via Carolina, both German and Czech sections. There is high elevation across West Bohemia towards Plzen with extensive panoramas. Between Plzen and Prague is also very beautiful countryside. The old centre of Plzen is an interesting deviation 15 minutes off the D5.

Prague is a public transport city with no parking () so you either need a hotel with parking or you leave your car at a park+ride on the outskirts and get the metro or tram into the centre.

Hello everyone!

I'm from Caracas, Venezuela. I just wanted to let you know that the Youth Orchestra of Caracas are visiting Prague the next month on our 2012 Europe Tour. We're gonna play at the Rudolfinum - Dvorak Hall on september 21th at 20:00 according to the schedule made by our tour agency. I hope to meet some of you czech guys at the end of the concert and the days after

We're gonna stay for arround 4 days I think. I also noticed some good prices in electronics (compared to the other cities of the tour) and decided to go shopping for a few computer hardware and smartphones if it's possible. So if you guys know some electronic stores and malls it would be great that you tell me some.

You can find more info about the concert here:

Thank you a lot! It's great to read such a beautiful words about city I live in. All the people around me just complain about economical or political situation and everybody forgets that we have things to be proud of. I hope you'll be able to visit our country again and you'll enjoy it!

Beautiful country too!

Don't worry about the political situation. The orchestra still plays well without the conductor.

Karlovy Vary
Real Life Fantasy Land

Being in Karlovy Vary' the kids said
'is being like in Disneyland'.

Indeed- it looks like we are in Disney’s
well planned Main Street ,

....where turn-of-the-century architecture
of a bygone era was recreated,
but this time- it’s for real.

Read here for more:

Staying for few days in Karlovy Vary is one good and compelling reason to return to your beautiful country.

Have you seen that US movie, where a supermarket lady learns she is terminally ill, decides to go for her dream, which is to visit Karlovy Vary? There she gives a life lesson to a senator, and I dont think I am disclosing the ending if I say she is suddenly healthy again.

I'd like to share the last of my series of review on Prague and the Czech Republic.

My family has been to so many cities and places in the world but I could not get enough of this beautiful country and the experience is worth sharing.

It is the one of the very few countries where you can travel back in time to the middle ages:

From the very very old MEDIEVAL Town of Cezky Kromulov:

http://camsurstaystray.blogspot.com/...-kromulov.html

...to 12th and 13th century Gothic and Renaissance city of Prague

http://camsurstaystray.blogspot.com/...-in-world.html

...and the glorious Victorian City in Carlovy Vary...

http://camsurstaystray.blogspot.com/...e-fantasy.html

Indeed- time travel to different eras is real in the beautiful country like Czech Republic.

Yes, I've seen the film but did not realize that it was shot in Karlovy Vary. I'll have to see it again.

Oni mi to prostě nevěří. To ještě nikde nezažili. Snad přijedou i tak.

Natural hot springs in Czech Republik

Do you know NATURAL hot springs (with photos) in Czech or places to bath in warm waters near such springs (lakes, temporary streams, streams, rivers) , but NOT in blue pools.
