Here are some more progress pics. The main facade has been completed, next up will be the crown and spire, and then finally the base. Construction may be delayed, however, because I haven't yet received the LEDs I ordered for the job.

Thank you, everybody.

Here is my finished New York Times Tower. Unfortunately, I could not achieve the fading effect from the main facade into the crown, but I'm content with the way it turned out. Full height is 18 7/8 inches.

Here are some pics of it being integrated into my city:

I have a quick and dirty project to work on this weekend to cleanse my pallet. I'll hopefully have pics on Monday.

Just wow..in the dark they are getting a real great effect with you led's. Just can't get enough of your pictures. So in this short time you have already done 7 buildings (the ones I saw on the picture), or do you have already more? If you continue with this kind of speed you need an extra house to display them next year.

Actually there are several more that you can't see in those photos. Here's my list according to full height:

World Trade Center
Empire State Building
Four Times Square
Chrysler Building
40 Wall Street
Beekman Tower
Trump World Tower
Woolworth Buiding
Metropolitan Life Tower
Trump Tower
17 State Street
One Times Square
American Radiator Building

You can find photos of them all in this thread. Its starting to look really dense up there

I just reviewed the thread and I wondered How could I forget about the "older" ones like the Radiator Building, which is of course really nice.
But my favorites are the One Times Square, Two Times Square and the Beekman. I just like these buildings a lot and how you made them in your way, it's just spectacular. I wish I had more time to experiment with different materials but right now it's just to much university and work. I hope tomorrow I can finally make some progress on the Robie House.
But it's an advantage to be so slow, I don't have so quick a space problem like you.
Maybe you should open a museum.

Wow Jrob! It's amazing, all the little details you put on the NYTT model! The LED lights even make it more impressive, I simply can't wait to see what you'll have in store for us next!

International Gem Tower

Thank you all.

My quick and dirty weekend project was the International Gem Tower, which just went up nearly unnoticed on 47th Street. I used the original planned height of 590ft, instead of the end product of 460ft. I used diamond plate vinyl wrap turned so that the "diamonds" go straight up-and-down and sideways instead of its natural skewed angle. Then I added some window and floor scoring. I'm afraid the edges are a little rough; unfortunately my box cutter blade was quickly going dull.

And here are some more pics I took of my city:

This is the view from the top of the Chrysler Building:

This is from the observation deck of the Empire State:

This is from the roof of the Trump World Tower:

This is from the crown of the Woolworth Building:

These are from the highest point in the city, the deck of the Trade Center:

And here is a group shot:

We've come a long way, but we're no where near finished

Looking at the pics again, they probably would've turned out better if I had turned off the tv backlight

Thank you both very much.

After a few weeks of holiday rest, my construction workers are ready to go again. Today I'm starting on the much delayed 70 Pine Street (aka AIG Building). Hopefully I'll have some good progress pics tomorrow.

Thank you!

I'm using regular old LEDs I order off ebay from China. I get the pre-wired type so I don't have to bother with resistors and such. I just hook them up positive to positive, neg to neg and they work perfectly.

Here are some progress pics of 70 Pine Street. I'm hoping to begin the facade today or tomorrow.

It looks a little short in the pics, but its currently around 15 inches tall. When completed, itll come to approx 17 1/8 inches
