The most info I could find: http://translate.google.com/translat...43%26a%3D11816

I think it looks like a plastic bubble. Hope it has nothing to do with Rīga

Oh god, I hope I will never see that piece of whatever that is, again. We already have enough experience with Belarussian trollys.

To gve you (and me) more nightmare stuff here is the original "plastic bubble" (cuz this one is just a bus version) - Trolleybus
Belkommunmash AKSM-420 (a successor of the ASKM-321 and ASKM-333, which are used in Riga)

Hera are more pictures

If I understand correctly, then this trolleybus has been tested in Columbia and Argentina and the cities there are interested in buying this "trolleybus" and "bus", but no deals are signed yet.

IMO - Especialy that neon-lime-green version (click the link)
It would like nice in a futuristic movie or a city in Japan (maybe) but not in the ex-soviet cities for which it mainly has been made.

Passed the intersection of Brīvības iela/Matīsa iela/Miera iela and saw workers hanging up new wires on new poles.
I asked them if it was to prepare T11 for the new streetcars and they said yes!
When I ride the T11 next time I'll have to check the result and if anything has been done at the Tallinas iela intersection.

Since Latvia already produces VDL buses under a license, it could be plausible to produce VDL's new trolleybus models.

Almost all wires on the T11 route have already been changed ... the part in city center is the last one (as much I have noticed from driving by in my car). At least I saw the "new" wire holders (or how are they called) on Miera iela between Tallinas iela and Brasas tilts, also on Brasas tilts and on Kokneses prospekts.

Those fittings have been there for half a year now, but there are a few smaller parts missing, mainly intersections with other wires.
I couldn't see any new intersection parts today, but I guess it takes more than one night to get everything prepared.

Have they rewired Gaujas street? Or are they going to wait for the building of Ziemeļu maģistrāle because it will change the alignment of the tram tracks? (Which sort of isn't fair because public transport should be the priority and journey times shouldn't be made longer.)

I think I've seen rewiring there, too.
And the Northern Corridor is still a few years til construction start.
And yes, it should have had the new ones almost a year by now, at least that was what they said when they were introduced on T6.
