eMKay, lose the hate and anger.

I've said it before but Safeco is long overdue for a scoreboard upgrade.

A New Era at Safeco

The Mariners made the announcement official, the fences will be moved in for the 2013 season.

Quote:
From the left field corner to a point about midway between the bullpens, the wall will be moved in 4 feet. The biggest change will be from the left field power alley area to straightaway center, where the wall will be as much as 17 feet closer to home plate. From straightaway center to right center, the wall will be moved in 4 feet.
The hand-operated scoreboard attached to the current 16 ft LF wall will be removed and the entire OF wall will be a uniform 8 ft tall.

That's way too big.

The scoreboard epidemic grows...

The New Video Board

Safeco's new scoreboard will be over 201 feet wide and 57 feet high or 11,425 square feet. By comparison, Kauffman Stadium's is 8,820 square feet.

Correct. This was the other picture from the article:

edit: They also give a description in the article about how it might be used (i.e. when it would be full screen vs flanked by ads, etc)

Edgar's

New open-air bar/restaurant being built behind the new LF wall called Edgar's after former Mariner Edgar Martinez.
