They should install an advt board on top of that subway on both sides of road.. That income will be enough for maintenance. Subways means less stairs to climb for pedestrians compared to skywalks
That's an excellent idea.
Try suggesting it to our govt.

Superb article on CNR underpass....I hear from local BJP sources that Ashwathnarayan(MLA) is really worried about anti-incumbency and will mostly lose but is trying to finish at-least this underpass now! (also the road widening from Bhashyam circle which created controversy bcos of cutting of many trees near cluny's is now nowhere to be heard of now!)

Guys picture 3 is what i have wondered about for the last 3 yrs...wtf are they trying to do?? Its not related to the underpass only by the look of it and they have dug a huge pit!

also this seems a little old picture(may be 2 weeks old, bcos in picture 1 they have nearly excavated until the IISC wall now)

Will the other Intel and Bellandur flyovers see the light of the day?

Any reason for the huge delay in opening the flyovers towards hsr layout in intel and bellandur junction?

Smile

The flyover at DB Halli (Intel) Flyover towards HSR has been opened. Bellandur asphalting is in progress. I suppose most of the flyovers/underpasses shall be completed now that elections are round the corner.

Yeah 1 month to open the bellandur stretch and another 6 month to clear the debris. Why cant they just clear the debris with construction. The underpass at J P morgan has been opened, but isnt it an eyesore with the debris on sideways and no painting on the side walls

Somehow I feel, work under yeddy was much better then Shetter and Gowda

The work on both DB Halli and Bellandur flyovers was inordinately delayed as the payment to the contractors had not been made.

BBMP has made it a habit of delaying the complettion of projects so that it benefits the contractors. UP State Bridge Corporation made millions of rupees because the completion of construction of flyovers at Dairy Circle, Airport Road and Jayadeva junctions was delayed. The trend started with these projects and it continued with Vijayanagar Underpass, Kadirenahalli Underpass, Puttenhalli Underpass, Bellandur, DB Halli flyovers, Gaalii Anjaneya Flyover, Wheeler Road Flyover, Yeshwanthpur Flyover, Kadugodi ROB, the Benninganahalli RUB, Railway Overbridge being constructed on Ring Road near Taj Vivanta Yeshwantpur.

Forum members can add to this list. Worst managed projects are those, which are being executed jointly by BBMP and SWR.

On the other hand, projects to which there is strong local opposition are executed swiftly. Examples are Tagore Circle Underpass, Malleshwaram Underpass and the flyover near National College. Tagore Circle underpass and National College flyover tell a tale of poor execution and faulty design.

Wish the same money had been used to expedite the start of commuter rail services in Bangalore.

Even I feel the same.

He pushed for projects all across the state.

I think it has more to do with BBMp's finances than who occupies CM's chair.

But BBMP is hardly doing anything. It's BDA that is doing the work. And BDA is a GoK agency.

Yeah, BDA in this case - or whichever agency that is overseeing the project. Even BDA's finances aren't good.

That is right now.
Most of the projects tht are being opened up now were started in an around December 2009-January 2010 at the peak of Yeddy's power.

After the elections(when BJP , might not come to power), what will happen to infra development/ The Kumaraswamy/Dharam Singh regime was disastrous for Bangalore last time.

No idea.
We can then only hope that the NHAI does something.
