Thank you. This looks like a work of a 5 year old.

Judging from the site plans I saw on the white board, it looks like that plan from the Herald is NOT anything resembling a real site plan. It looks more conceptual. Also, that "anchor retail" site is now featuring medical offices under construction.

In fact, looking at it again, they don't even have the boundaries of the project right, as the apartment/townhouse project extends over to where the north arrow on the map is.

Yes , why not build this Mill Creek development near the current Town Center? You are very right!

If you look closely at the site plan on this board, you can see it does NOT correspond to the east boundary of the site plan from the Herald article.

Since this is Polygon NW building this thing, it's probably going to be very similar to this, north of Alderwood Mall, which is almost done now and has also been built by Polygon.

How could anyone build a piece of crap like that and get away with it? Ought to be used for demolition practice .. soon.

I passed by that a few weeks ago. It's actually pretty good. On a shallow site along a main road, which is why it might look a bit awkward in a pic.

I like it. Pretty cool to see such a development in that spot.

I have seen much worse. I don't think it looks too bad really. Beats the heck out of the Everett Farmers Market, I'm still not over that one....

I guess their using orange stripes of paint to offset the simple stacking-of-purple-shipping-containers design. But, that's just me.

It looks better if you see it in person.

I can understand your dislike for the bright orange. Fortunately color isn't permanent.

Across the street from the Fred Meyer north of the Alderwood Mall is a proposal for a 491-unit "Avalon Alderwood" urban center development which would consist of 10 buildings 3-6 stories high, to be built in 2 phases.

Between that, the development next to the Ash Way P&R, and the Martha Lake urban center, looks like the whole area around that I-5 intersection is going to gradually get quite a bit denser.

http://www.heraldnet.com/article/201...rea-for-growth Everett looking at raising height limits around Everett Station to 80 feet, hopefully that could spur some mixed-use development around there! There's essentially no TOD around there at this point, right?

Right, everything within 2-3 blocks of the station is industrial.

It's going to be hard to get that first one or two developers to take the plunge around Everett Station. Sure, transit is right there for commuting out of town, but there's pretty much no walkable retail/service and you're surrounded by industrial, train tracks, and a large homeless population served by the Gospel Mission.
