London's third world-famous landmark skyscraper, which will become, IMO, the most recongizable one.

FAQ: The red things on The Shard are the blind boxes. The blinds themselves are grey.

The Shard's observation deck opens in Feb 2013: http://the-shard.com/the-view-from-the-shard

Yes the top is finished and will remain open to the elements. The exterior is (pretty much) complete.

Joiner Street last night - the hoarding around the Mace site entrance is being taken apart and new paving is going down.

This building is the parapet version of The New York Times Building in terms of faking its height to become a 'supertall'. That parapet at the top is easily 100+ feet tall which brings the height immediately down to less than 950 feet. Plus I'm sure the highest occupied floor is less than 800 feet. It is disgrace imo for this to be even be included in the supertall section at all.

I have no problems with that as this is clearly part of the tower design. What i don't like are the antennas like on WTC1 that have nothing to do with the design or the building itself.

Anyways great pictures on this page!
