I live in Brum for 10 months of the year. You know nothing about me. You seem to think that I am a modern oik that knows no value of football but I have been going to games long before you were born sonny.
On franchises - yes NFL fans in LA are pissed off that they have lost the Rams and Raiders but they still back those teams on tv - they haven't turned away.

If Wimbledon followed their natural course, which was bankruptcy and a fall down the divisions, would they now be in a worse position than AFC Wimbledon? And would their future be as bright? Certainly I couldn't imagine their momentum being on a upwards trajectory like AFC Wimbledon's is. We've got two growing, healthy clubs now, one in Milton Keynes and one as the natural continuation of Wimbledon FC. So, weirdly, things have almost certainly worked out better than they otherwise would have done. Not that that makes Wimbledon FC being uprooted any less appauling an episode, because this generally happy outcome for Wimbledon's fans wasn't on Winkleman's mind when he did what he did. But things have worked out. |

One thing I noticed in an FA Cup Final website was how football has become dominated by the same clubs recently.
Here is the list of winners from the 60s and 70s: 1966 Everton 3 Sheffield Wednesday 2 1967 Tottenham Hotspur 2 Chelsea 1 1968 West Bromwich Albion 1 Everton 0* 1969 Manchester City 1 Leicester City 0 1970 Chelsea 2 Leeds United 1 1971 Arsenal 2 Liverpool 1* 1972 Leeds United 1 Arsenal 0 1973 Sunderland 1 Leeds United 0 1974 Liverpool 3 Newcastle United 0 1975 West Ham United 2 Fulham 0 1976 Southampton 1 Manchester United 0 1977 Manchester United 2 Liverpool 1 1978 Ipswich Town 1 Arsenal 0 13 different winners. Last 16 finals and only Pompey and Man City have infiltrated the Sky 4. 1996 Manchester United 1 Liverpool 0 1997 Chelsea 2 Middlesbrough 0 1998 Arsenal 2 Newcastle United 0 1999 Manchester United 2 Newcastle United 0 2000 Chelsea 1 Aston Villa 0 2001 Liverpool 2 Arsenal 1 2002 Arsenal 2 Chelsea 0 2003 Arsenal 1 Southampton 0 2004 Manchester United 3 Millwall 0 2005 Arsenal 0 Manchester United 0* 5-4 pen 2006 Liverpool 3 West Ham United 3* 3-1 pen 2007 Chelsea 1 Manchester United 0* 2008 Portsmouth 1 Cardiff City 0 2009 Chelsea 2 Everton 1 2010 Chelsea 1 Portsmouth 0 2011 Manchester City 1 Stoke City 0 2012 Chelsea 2 Liverpool 1

good shoot out, some shocking efforts and a couple of very good ones, chamberlain and wilshere for obvious reasons in particular with good pens, conell (?) brilliant penalty
with all the fuss over nets and what have you too good to see the bradford fans on the pitch but behaving themselves |

To be fair Eddy, League 2 Bradford knocking out Arsenal. It's huge for them.
Wenger sent a team out to win, he wanted/needs a cup. His time in the hot seat is probably drawing to a close.

I listened to Bradford game on radio - riveting! Only minus point on night was Villa but fair play to them - Weimann is a real find.

Shame the Leeds' keeper couldn't keep Chelsea's 1st goal out then it could have been a different story.
Chelsea v Swansea - Swans need to go back to Liberty level I think. Bradford v Villa - either the easiest draw ever for a top flight team to reach a Wembley final or could be the biggest banana skin in English football!! I don't know if KHVillan is confident or nervous lol!
