Petronas are nice and tall but a bit guady for my taste. So I choose the old WTC:

With the WTC, there are either amazing pictures, or really amazing pictures.

Most of them are from the late 80s-mid 90s.

The ones of the World Financial Center under construction are definitely from 1986. You can see that 2WFC (dome top) and 7WTC are still under construction (and weren't completed until 1987). 4WFC (ziggurat top) is nearly complete, and it was completed in mid-1986.

Both. WTC because of its symbolism while Petronas for its design.

of course i vote for Petronas Twin towers, no longer be the tallest in the world, but this tower is timeless for the design. and WTC Twin tower is no longer in this earth. somebody put on the list, Petronas Twin Tower Vs Prambanan Temple. Beautiful Petronas.

Even with its nighttime illumination the Petronas Towers wouldn't catch my attention as much as the WTC

I've never seen another building look like the WTC did at night. Unique lighting shape patterns

Yet these giant toothpaste boxes were classier and made more sense than half the crap being built today.

How are there so many people working in offices at night? Or is the lights just left on and used as building lighting at night???

There are night office shifts in the city that never sleeps I guess!

The trade towers weren't just buildings, they were monuments, in the same way the washington spire is a monument, symbols of art and the United States.
