Yes, that's the one, Merpati. If BG is seriously considering the MA60, they ought to form a team of experts and go to Merpati to evaluate the frame. The team should include cabin attendants so that they could judge the ride.

In reality what's going to happen is that the the manufacturer through its local agents/dealers (dalals) will find a way to line the pockets of senior management of BG, CAAB, and MoCA, and a deal shall be clinched.

I believe, BG would be well advised to stick to western made airliners.

Regent Airways

Booking via http://www.flyregent.com, if one has an international flight then a connecting (domestic) flight would they automatically get 30KG (of hold) luggage for the RX flight? I've been advised by a travel agent that would be the case, true?

Yes...if you can provide evidence of an inbound/outbound connecting flight to an RX flight.

I guess United Airways too will be seen in the courts soon regarding copyright infringements from either both or any one of the above organizations

And just to make it a little more interesting, the logo can also be purchased for $150 dollars only!

Novoair to launch flights this month



Novoair, the newest private sector airline of the country, plans to begin its commercial operation later this month, said its Managing Director M Mofizur Rahman on Thursday.

“Novoair intends to provide premium services especially designed to cater for business and leisure travellers in Bangladesh," Rahman said.

He spoke at a programme to introduce its second Embraer EMB-145 aircraft, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday. The airliner received its first of such aircraft on November 30.

“Our fleet is currently made up of two 49-seater Embraer EMB-145 jets with advanced features and all the comforts to make your short journeys smooth, memorable and faster."

The airline will initially operate scheduled passenger flights on domestic routes between Dhaka and Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Jessore and Sylhet.

Since the beginning of its journey in 2007, Novoair remained engaged in multiple facets of aviation services, like representing China Southern Airline and Tiger Airways, Singapore as GSA for Bangladesh territory.

I agree. Look at this report on Merpati's MA-60 crash a couple of years ago.

The black box was encrypted and in Chinese. It had to be sent back to China to be deciphered. Magically - the crash became the pilot's fault in the Government report

I have one word - Dhamachapa...

PIA and lots of Indian carriers fly ATR's. Biman can easily get low airframe-hour used ATR's at reasonable cost. Or lease them.

The problem of PIA, AI and BG is same. Bureaucracy.

In recent days PIA ordered 5 77W without any discount that means some of the money........

AI is overloaded by wide bodies. 772LR are about to sold but they plan to introduce it with all economy. They have plenty of A321 but they do not phage out the older A320. And in some of the route where they used A321 now they use 787. Also they ordered 27 787-8. Do they need that much of 787-8 ? After 787-8 introduction what they will do with A332. Still unknown their action plan against huge financial loss.

Same as AI. BG also have no action plan against loss. Even no one is capable to talk in this matter especially journalist. BG immediately need two or three ATR/Q300 or any 50 seat aircraft but they wont collect that. This is a business. BG never wanted to go for 10 Boeing order if there were a political GOVT in 2008. And if they do so BG never negotiate for discount.
Our PM know the things happened in BG but she will never try to solve this as her own people on BOG. The things will run as it run always. The situation will change dramatically by media coverage. As it happened in case of fire cases in BD. Specially Nimtoli and recent one. It all just a eye wash with derty saline water.
Bg need totally commercialization by selling 40% stake to a foreign airline and 20% to public and 5% to the employee of BG. GOV will have rest 35% stake. So the out of 10 BOG there will be six person from out side of GOV especially BAF.

মূল্য সংবেদনশীল সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়ার ৩০ মিনিটের মধ্যে প্রকাশের বাধ্যবাধকতা থাকলেও নিয়মটি লঙ্ঘন করছে শেয়ারবাজারে তালিকাভুক্ত কোম্পানি ইউনাইটেড এয়ারওয়েজ বিডি লিমিটেড। কোম্পানিটি তালিকাভুক্ত হয়েও নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা সিকিউরিটিজ অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশন (এসইসি) ও দুই স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জকে না জানিয়েই গোপনে দুটি উড়োজাহাজ বিক্রির প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করেছে। বিক্রি প্রক্রিয়ার অংশ হিসেবে এরই মধ্যে একটি উড়োজাহাজ সি-চেকের জন্য বিদেশে পাঠিয়েছে কোম্পানিটি।
জানা গেছে, ২০১১ সালের জুলাইয়ে ইউনাইটেড এয়ারওয়েজের পরিচালনা পর্ষদ উড়োজাহাজ বিক্রির সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেও তা শেয়ারহোল্ডারদের জানায়নি। মূল্য সংবেদনশীল এ তথ্য নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থাকে না জানিয়ে কোম্পানিটি সিকিউরিটিজ আইন লঙ্ঘন করেছে। তবে কোম্পানিটি দাবি করছে, বিশেষ সাধারণ সভায় (ইজিএম) নেয়া এ সিদ্ধান্ত কোম্পানির বার্ষিক আর্থিক প্রতিবেদনে প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। যদিও কোম্পানির
২০১১-১২ সালের আর্থিক প্রতিবেদন পর্যালোচনায় কোথাও উড়োজাহাজ বিক্রির কোনো তথ্য পাওয়া যায়নি।
এ বিষয়ে এসইসির মুখপাত্র ও নির্বাহী পরিচালক সাইফুর রহমান বণিক বার্তাকে বলেন, ইউনাইটেড এয়ারওয়েজের উড়োজাহাজ বিক্রির তথ্যটি সঠিক হয়ে থাকলে এবং তা যথাসময়ে প্রকাশ করা না হলে এসইসি প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা নেবে......

বেসামরিক বিমান চলাচল কর্তৃপক্ষ ইউনাইটেড এয়ারওয়েজকে (বিডি) ঢাকা-কুয়ালালামপুর-ঢাকা পথে সপ্তাহে অতিরিক্ত আরও সাতটি ফ্লাইট বা উড্ডয়ন কার্যক্রম পরিচালনার অনুমতি দিয়েছে। এর ফলে বর্তমান সাতটিসহ এই পথে বিমান সংস্থাটির সাপ্তাহিক ফ্লাইটসংখ্যা দাঁড়াবে ১৪।
ইউনাইটেড এয়ারের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে গতকাল মঙ্গলবার এই তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। এতে বলা হয়, আগামী বছরের ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে এই পথে অতিরিক্ত উড্ডয়ন কার্যক্রম শুরু করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে তাদের। এ ছাড়া ঢাকা থেকে ব্যাংকক ও সিঙ্গাপুর পথে প্রতিদিনই বিমান পরিচালনার অনুমতি পেয়েছে সংস্থাটি।
বর্তমানে ইউনাইটেড এয়ার ঢাকা থেকে জেদ্দা, দুবাই, মাসকট, কুয়ালালামপুর, ব্যাংকক, কাঠমান্ডু, কলকাতা এবং চট্টগ্রাম থেকে মাসকট ও কলকাতা পথে বিমান পরিচালনা করছে। আর অভ্যন্তরীণ ক্ষেত্রে ঢাকা থেকে চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজার, সিলেট, যশোর, রাজশাহী, সৈয়দপুর পথে চলছে এই সংস্থার বিমান।

i check this site last night as i was very curious about the launch date and the date was set at "1" so i guess it changed between your and my visit.

I didnt see any news of launch.
