Who will be the Emporis Skyscraper Award winners and nominees of 2009? Will it be:

300 North LaSalle in Chicago?
Almas Tower in Dubai?
Bay Adelaide West in Toronto?
Millennium Tower in San Francisco?
OpernTurm in Frankfurt?
The Bank of America Tower in New York City?
Sapphire Tower in Istanbul?
Bakrie Tower in Jakarta?
Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas?
The Residences at the Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia?

You will find out about it later this month.

Nearing the end of January and the 09 award winners and nominees should be announced soon. However, there has been absolutely no news in this issue. Emporis may have stopped recieving the award. This is not the Cable Ace Awaed.

Emporis should give the award to a randomly-selected skyscraper and it's very likely to be this one:

Today, the winners and nominees of the 2009 Emporis Skyscraper Award have been announced, and the winners are:

(Gold) Aqua, Chicago, United States

(Silver) O-14, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

(Bronze) The Met, Bangkok, Thailand

Contrary to my speculation, 300 North LaSalle was not placed on the list.

Looks like there'll be no Emporis Skyscraper Award winners for buildings finished in 2011.

I don't know anyone who takes that award serious. Typically an award which is meant to stage the organizer, not the recipient
