Edmonton and Calgary are totally two different cities in term of economy and industries. Calgary is almost like the Houston and Edmonton is the Dallas of Alberta that most of the headoffices are in the cowtown and that's why Calgary has much more taller skyscrapers than Edmonton and even Vancouver and Montreal despite of the last two cities are twice and three times bigger respectively.

Maybe architecture is a bit similar but skyline is different. They have their own individual style, Calgary looks rather similar to Australian cities (except nature, of course ).
