me tu mkitxav, you can't just erase something that was worked so hard on. Why not let them finish and just start implementing THEIR OWN construction plans if they will, it's been 2 months and I only hear talks about demolitions, not about new constructions. I believe they've procrastinated long enough. They should get it over with and start thinking about the future projects. Like the shecherebuli autobahni romelic dzalian momewona roca viyavi 2011shi, da ise nela shendeba, motminebas gamoglevs adamians.

EBRD to finance Novotel hotel construction in Tbilisi

29.11.2012 (HTN - Hvino Tour News). European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved a senior loan to finance the construction and operation of a 4-star hotel in Tbilisi.

EBRD will allocate 18.66 million for the hotel project, while the total cost of project cost is 31.1 million. The co-sponsors are Georgian businessman Lasha Papashvili and "Georgian Real Estate Holding". Recipient of EBRD's loan is "64 Chavchavadze LLC", which is a limited liability company incorporated in Georgia, whose ultimate beneficiaries are Mr. Lasha Papashvili and Mr. Sulkhan Papashvili.

Hotel "Redix" would be run under the Novotel brand by the hotel operator Accor. The project site is located on Chavchavadze Avenue, close to the city centre and major corporate demand generators, and would feature 160 rooms, 1900 square meters of retail space and approximately 70 underground parking units.

I was on my way when i saw the construction site. the ground is being prepared right now to make it ready to start the buildings itself.

sounds like very interesting developments, if you have the capacity, can you please take the pix and post it here? you know it's expensive to go to georgia from some countries and some of us don't really get to go that often to see. I would appreciate it thanks!

if i pass by the area i will definitely take photos. its really far from the city centre though.

Prime Minister comments on suspended construction on Rike park

Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili has commented on the suspended construction of a musical theatre on Rike park; Ivanishvili thinks that the project is incompatible with its architecture with this historic part of the capital.
Ivanishvili says experts from foreign countries should be invited to work with Georgian specialists, who will take a decision whether the construction of the theatre will be restored or suspended and finally removed.
`If the construction is suspended, it will be better if foreign specialists, architects, who know this sphere, including designers, artists, etc., are involved in discussion. We`ll conduct survey and invite foreign experts and if it`s better to complete the construction, we`ll do so, but if it`s not, then we should remove it in time. I think it should be removed, actually. We must not do what should not be done,` Ivanishvili said.
