Updates at Downtown. they have surfaced most of the road as you compare the photos taken by mith last week. it should be able to complete after cny. some photos of the MBLM exits too; they are finally progressing on the interior as the scaffoldings have been taken down. dry risers have been installed too.

Thanks for the pictures as usual. Have been too busy this week to take any pictures. It looks like that they could only finish the road around March 2013. I could be wrong though. We just have to wait and see.

welcome. understand you're getting a job soon? March would still count as after CNY. I'm thinking they won't open the road right after its completed though. they have to work on integrating the east side to bayfront avenue.

Here are some photos of Gali Batu from my friend's apartment.

Hello. Anyone has the individual picture of each DTL Stage 1 stations? Like those you see at MRT station. Showing the station box, the exits and the buildings around that area.

nice photos.

From what i can see on the maintenance trains, there are Rail loader wagons, Flat wagons, Ballast hopper and Cable laying wagons.

I think this is the first train depot where the tracks are visible from ground level to be built recently, no?

I wish there was some major railway station built this way, not just a depot...

One can only wish, but the MRT system is a decentralised one, and so you won't be seeing 18 platforms gathering at one station, as much as it would be a joy to see.

Does anybody know why Humes was suddenly shelved?

And Humes should have two exits.

What are Humes? I only know that there's a planned station name Hume.

Anyway, I'm not sure. Probably because there's lack of ridership? Since most of the residents around that area drive.

Is it possible for something to do with KTM or GE2011?
Just asking.

Unlikely to be GE2011, since Bukit Panjang SMC and Holland-Bukit Timah GRC were safely won by the PAP with 66.27 and 60.08 respectively against the SDP. KTM even less so since the corridor belongs to Singapore now and the rail has all been ripped out. It's simply a case of ridership.

Geez, Lee480, that is what I have been telling you for months. It has nothing to do with either.

It wasn't 'suddenly shelved'. The station was an option to add on during planning, similar to bendemeer. The most obvious reason (and the one they claimed) is lack of demand, which I don't really agree.

I don't see why 2 exits are needed. One would suffice with an integrated bus stop northbound. They won't be touching the reserve land on the opposite side for decades.

They could alter service 176 or 963 to run along hume ave and turn left so as to give the condos like summer hill further in easier access to the station.

It has two exits (or I'm reading the station coordinates wrongly). Trust me, not even the senior project managers of Beauty World (they are in charge of Hume) know why Hume was scrapped and they suggested it was due to GE or KTM, though I'm not sure too.
