How are electricity, sanitation and water supplies ? Are slum areas being improved too ?

We don't see much of Lucknow outside your photos so I for one would like to know what life is like ?

electricity: Lucknow never had problem its 24hrs
Water: work almost complete for 24hr water supply
Sewage system: biggest in asia implemented successfully
Solid waste: under implementation ....should be ready in next one year
slums: only few slums in Lucknow compared to any city in India. Under Maya rule many were removed and houses given. Still decent amount of work is left to get rid of all (actually not possible)

piped gas connection under implementation (network in city ready...some colonies already covered..)

Biggest challenge: Unplanned and illegal construction. Lucknow development authority has to work overtime to stop unplanned / illegal construction. 20,000+ acres planned areas under construction by LDA, Awas Vikas and private companies.

LDA is managing the infra pretty decently and is able to keep pace with the growth of city. If you can avoid old city then 5 min or more of traffic jam is rare. If at any location city faces traffic jam LDA has plan and till now what I have seen most of plans work quite well. Door to door 30km distance from Indira nagar to Airport I cover in 30min

Tough job: demolish old / illegal / unplanned colonies and redevelop them. Lot is happening in and around city center (around Hazratganj) but lot needs to be done.

Wow, great to hear. I live in a city nearby in Kanpur and the city is a complete mess. I wish government paid a bit more attention to it.

At the beginning of this year 700crore was allocated to put all electrical cables underground in Lucknow. Actually work is being done since last 2-3years to put wires underground. priority was given to areas where power theft is highest and priority was also given to areas were beautification of Lucknow was done e.g. Hazratganj, along gomti around Ambedkar memorial, VIP road, Jail road etc.
Indiranagar / Gomti Nagar/Aliganj (organized sectors) are going to last ones as theft of power is quite low. Couple of years back plan was created to improve / beautify Indiranagar / Aliganj / Gomtinagar by pooling funds from all wards but was shot down by the LMC as elected members of LMC wanted to use the funds in their wards.
