I've always wanted to see the construction of the double skin...what's brilliant is the way it's built to adjust to any deflection, since all that load it takes from the curtain wall is a lot.

The men are required to work at a height of 885ft (270 metres) as they install a crossing tower for a new line of ultra high voltage cable stretching from Anhui province to Shanghai - a distance of 268 miles.
The tower is just one of 1,421 starting west from Huainan. The men have until the end of 2013 to finish the ambitious project

Yeah the Jin Mao looks absolutely pathetic next to these two new giants, yet it would absolutely dominate if it were placed in my city's skyline. Really puts the size of the SWFC and ST into perspective.

I love the design of this tower.
Would Shanghai really be the greatest city on the planet in the 21st century?

At first, I was thinking that the tower's dual skin cladding wouldn't look that great. But it looks amazing. And fast. Don't forget how fast this thing moves.

I guess Jinmao is a little unhappy about this.

Don't know if this has been linked yet...... lots of tech stuff but it's anyway something worth to be seen, IMHO.

Haha I remember gettin so scared on the Pearl Tower where at the height of 259 meters you can get out onto the glass floor. My wife managed to get out and even walked on it, while I couldn't.
