Not sure about the ANZ in Vietnam though.

The ANZ in Australia is linked to most Malaysian banks such as Maybank and CIMB... (and especially its sister bank AmBank in Malaysia where the fee could be lower: http://www.ambankgroup.com/en/person...s/default.aspx ).

@patchay, what do you think about the recent tensions between Malaysia and Indonesia, latest cases where a Malaysian former minister insulted our former president, BJ Habibie?

this is my comment in malaysia-chronicle

I'm Indonesian, and I love Habibie as a person and Habibie as a former President. He is the real president, our best former president, He gave us Indonesians a foundation of democracy, a foundation of pluralism, a foundation of the stronger today Indonesia, he was a simple, honest, assertive and have a vision, not just for himself, but for all of Indonesian.

We Indonesian, never regret when East Timor separated from Indonesia, we thank Habibie for that matter, coz I don't know what would happen to today Indonesia if East Timor is still with us. I wondered why there is a former Malaysian minister who insulted him for that reason. We (as INDONESIAN) never think Habibie as traitors or whatsoever. Is this the real Malaysia political scene?...

I was angry and sad with this stupid Malaysian. But I hope, he(the former minister) not represent the entire of Malaysians.

I'm sure if he(the former minister) will only become a nut in front of Habibie, Habibie is a former president with the highest IQ that Indonesia ever had!.
I've just read about this case in the Malaysia thread in the Indonesian forum.

Most Malaysians (who know politics) know Pak Habibie's contributions in the democratic reforms in Indonesia and the East Timor referendum.

As most people here already know, Zainuddin is really stupid former Malaysian information minister. But what do you expect from a Minister who embarrassed his own country before (in 2007)?

He was dropped as Minister after the 2008 Elections. (they say he is the first Southeast Asian secretary/minister that argues with an international channel during prime time interview)

Here's the transcript with the Minister's grammar errors:

Quote:
Al Jazeera: Here is now joining us on the phone is Malaysia’s Information Minister Zainudin Maidin. There were very violent scenes we saw earlier today. How can you justify your strength of response to peaceful protests?

Zainuddin Maidin: That is your interpretation of violence is not violence. Your man, your journalist trying to project, exaggerate more than what actually happened; that’s it. We are laughing; congratulate your journalist behaving like an actor, very good actor.

Al Jazeera: As you are saying that so, we are watching scenes of protesters (Interrupting: Yeah, I am watching, I hear) being sprayed with Chemical filled water?

Zainuddin Maidin: It is not as what you have been trying to do this, to do it everywhere but in Malaysia people are laugh you, We know our Police at last have allowed the procession to go to Istana Negara, you know... Do Police, First Police might be handled them with tear gas. Police don’t, don’t fire anybody.

Al Jazeera: Our correspondent came back to our office with chemicals in his eyes

Zainuddin Maidin : This is the way, your idea is that what you are trying to project what is your mind, you think we Pakistan, we are Burma, we are Myanmar. Your thinking...

Al Jazeera: Well unfortunately when you refused to let people to protest, it does appear so

Zainuddin Maidin: That is why we are not like you. That is why you have early perception. You come here and you want to project us as like undemocratic country. This is a democratic country.

Al Jazeera: So why can’t people protest then if it is a democratic country?

Zainuddin Maidin: People protest. First they protest. We are allowing protest and they have demonstrated. But when we try to disperse them, and then later they don’t disperse, later our Police compromise. They have compromised and allowed them to go to Istana Negara. Police, our Police have succeeded in handling them gently, right? Why don’t you report that and you take the opposition, someone from the opposition party, you asked him to speak; you don’t take from the Government, right

Al Jazeera: Why did you not break up these protesters more peacefully?

Zainuddin Maidin: Pardon, pardon..

Al Jazeera: Why did you not break up these protests more peacefully?

Zainuddin Maidin: I can’t hear you. I can’t hear you.

Al Jazeera: Why did you not break up these protests more peacefully?

Zainuddin Maidin: No, we are, first this is illegal. We don’t want, normally this demonstration..

Al Jazeera:: OK, let me return to my former question: why is the protest illegal?

Zainuddin Maidin: Yeah it is illegal. First is because (Why?) we have the ERECTION in Malaysia. No point of having a protest. We are allowing, we have an erection every five years, never fail. We are not like Myanmar, not like other country. And you are helping these. You at Al Jazerra also is helping these, these forces. You know these forces who are not in fashion, who don’t believe in democracy...

Al Jazeera: Many thanks for joining us.

Zainuddin Maidin: Yes that is Al Jazeera attitude, right, right??...

In Malaysia, the Minister can later say...

"oh I was drunk the other day, the person who insulted with those words sounds like me, looks like me, but is not necessary me... thank you very much"

Case closed.

KK's donuts were too sweet, while J.Co's were tasty. They would establish outlets opposite KK outlets and you can see people lining up J.Co's. Their donuts are good. Just like the long lines we experienced when GoNuts Donuts just opened, i think the same will happen to J.Co. I believe it is here to stay and find its niche.

Gonuts Donuts lost it's status when Krispy Kreme opened in The Philippines.

And the former does make good donuts.

Honestly, the owner of Gonuts should revive the name and it's reputation. As for us Pinoys, we should support our own brands especially if they are good.

As for J-Co, lines are still long, how for how long?

Here in Truly Asia, our biggest donuts chain is still Dunkin' Donuts and we have Krispy Kreme as well as J.Co Donuts from Indonesia and recently Mister Donut from Japan.

However, now our most popular is a local startup Western doughnuts and coffee chain:

BIG APPLE DONUTS & COFFEE

Malaysia - Thailand - Indonesia - China - another ASEAN country to be announced soon

Big Apple also has "donashi" or what we call "Asian-styled donuts".

Big Apple Donuts look interesting.

Being health conscious, i am not really a donut lover. But i do eat from time to time and i find KK donuts too sweet. Id go for GoNuts Donuts. Yes, it is still around.

It's a de facto. The Malaysian owner was so inspired by the Indonesian donut. Case similar to Malaysia's Secret Recipe, a brainchild from Philippines' Red Ribbon. I still prefer J.Co donuts over Krispy Kreme and Big Apple though. It's light yet tasteful.

Here's the transcript with the Minister's grammar errors:

gasp, reading the Al Jazeera interview showed Malaysia also have its share of stupid politicians as well like in our country . How did someone like that hold such sensitive position in your country? Partisan politics? Corruption? Mediocre electorate?

Seems the danger when it gets to be the trend mediocre people are entrenched in position (SSC included) with ignorance prevailing instead over quest for truth and knowledge, even susceptible to abuse lacking in prudent decisions, lack of vision and insular mindset, and other ills that in broader perspective would even endanger human endeavors (even resulting to friction between countries due to stupid politicians) from meeting the great challenges ahead as Humanity enters the 21st century
