You shouldn't discuss the dearly departed. (RRP Fly)
But, come on Saul. At what point did they Fly 'ever' admit he was wrong or may have been wrong? Erm..... I won't go back to last season. Tea leaves, titles, etc. What really irked me was the continual insistance FFPR would finish off City, Chelsea, and a host of other football clubs. And United would have a free run in the future unhindered.(all would be swept aside) The fact that he honestly couldn't comprehend nor accept Mansour, Khaldoon, etc, might, just might, be a liitle bit more clued up than he was about FFPR and running a football club/business. TBF to him, perhaps he was on a windup. If he was, it was a bloody good one. Either that or he was a....... |

I'm not sure he was on a wum but if so, it definitely required a lot of effort and research.
Wasn't he an accountant or something? anyway he seemed very knowledgable on finance to be fair. No ones know yet what FFFP will actually do to said clubs, we'll have to wait and see. Forget all that nonsense, we are all football fans, I honestly don't care about the financial issues behind my club. As long as I can afford a ST year after year I'm happy. So jrb, what's your predictions for the league this year?

As I said many many times, most people who go to Old Trafford today are more interested in watching the team than supporting the club.
You admit as much with your statement, you are not interested in the clubs finances, just watching the team. Another example of where fly was very wrong.

I see United's forecast of profits of £110m projected for this financial year has gone unmentioned so-far.
United profits for 2013-2014 already likely to be now £150m+ with `known' updates. |

is chelsea profit this year not down to the fact that they have spent their champions league winnings on buying players rather than roman's overdraft?

So Arsenal's new sponsorship deal is worth £30 m a season for:
Shirt Training Top Ground naming rights United's is worth £45m just for the footy top. The £17m training top deal was bought out (?) to look for a higher figure. No naming rights. So United's next nearest rivals, long-term, with a complete stadium, are already taking in less than 50% of our rights. A truly outstanding performance by the marketing boys and will allow the new manager, which must be either Pep or Jose, an enormous amount of clout in the transfer market. We are easily looking at c£60m+ net spend available. With the Premier League about to vote in a turnover based salary cap, only Chelsea/City opposed (says D Whelan?) then quite frankly the next manager will take us to another level. Barca/Real are finished....already this season in Spain, the TV networks did not televise the national team World Cup Qualifier due to no one putting up any money. In contrast the new Prem deal will be £5bn. Probably only Bayern will be able to stop us now...back to 2005 power levels now. Game on!

Who was it that said the float would fail and the share price would tumble? Oh, I think it was LNGCats....6month update....£2.29bn valuation on purchase price of £700m. Not bad business for 7years work....
Name Symbol Last price Change Mkt cap Volume Open High Low Manchester United PLC MANU 13.9 -0.05 2288.99 64383 13.88 14.07 13.86 So the Glazers have increased the asset from £0.7 to £2.3bn in 7years, which means on average their net worth has increased by £230m per annum. And Andersred et al could not understand how they got the finance to borrow against that asset? Hmmm, hence he talks and blogs and the Glazers own United? Probably?

Interest payments of £600mill and rising. £350mill still owing.(and the rest) The share price is currently $13.90. Still below float price. And being propped up by the Glazers on the QT. How much is it costing Manchester United Football Club? Malc and the Boys to keep on fleecing/robbing/stealing/plundering/etc the club for the longterm. United to make it 20. Sir will retire in....... Moyes is nailed on. PSG will kill FFPR. PS. I'm s*** at maths. Purchase price £700mill Interest so far £600mill. Debt remaing £350mill.(half of £700mill) Interest to pay off the remianing debt. £600mill? Minus the ill gotten gains. I'd say it will eventually cost the Glazers, sorry, Manchester United Football club, in the region of £1.75bill before Malc and the Boys finally get their hands on the Golden Willy Wonka Ticket. That is all you will get. That is enough. Last edited by jrb; December 29th, 2012 at 08:51 PM. |

Which bit of my post do you dislike?
That United are booming and the Glazers are good at business? Can't handle that, it was 2005 they took over. Get over it. Rejoice, 7 pts clear, destroying all others financially and from next summers TV deal back into the mega league. What's not to like? Unless you are one of life's victims I guess you will not be happy. Shame.

There is one everywhere.
On the various forums about rugby league, there are a gaggle of persistent and puerile Swinton "supporters" who continue to post childish bitter remarks about Salford Reds. And then there is usual sanctimonious and cocky plastic Wiganers. Swinton are like old City fans, Wigans are like those "Man Us" who have a Chelsea, Arsenal, Real, Blackburn shirt in their cupboards. On the various rugby union forums there is always some dim witted annoyance from somewhere like Exeter or Coalville and again the plastic Wiganers slapping themselves by the mantra kick and clap, etc. I find the ignore option works.

Put me on ignore and he won't have to suffer my......... That goes for anyone else who is......... by me. I honestly won't be offended. BTW. Some of you United fans may find this interesting? John Richardson(Sir's trusted Northern correspondent) stated unequivocally on this morning's Sunday Supplement that Sir will retire within 2 seasons due to health reasons.(age, etc) He also stated Sir will announce it quietly. (there will be no fanfare) I'm sure reclaiming the Premier League Title back from City, and in doing so making it 20, and/or Winning the Champions League trophy, will be a fitting and glorious end to a glittering managerial career. With Mourinho, Guardiola, or Moyes waiting to claim the poison chalice, the situation and the time is now right for Sir to stand down from his throne. The Kind is dead. Long live the King! If the truth be told, I will shed a tear of joy. |
