The construction of boundary wall of Gorewada Zoo had been started. 3 meters high Wall of 150 meters(approx) lenght had beed constucted from the Hanuman Mandir on Outer Ring Road of Gorewada to Katol Road. The construction is in Full swing. .

When I was on the way to wadi, I saw construction of Boundry wall which was so high as of other national parks.

आयआयआयटी चिचोलीत

नागपूरच्या शैक्षणिक क्षेत्रात आणखी एक मानाचा तुरा खोवणारी आयआयआयटी ही संस्था शहरालगत चिचोली येथे उभारण्यात येणार आहे . संस्थेवर सुमारे २०० कोटी रुपये खर्च अपेक्षित आहे .

काँग्रेसचे राष्ट्रीय सरचिटणीस खासदार विलास मुत्तेमवार यांनी एनडीएच्या काळापासून या संस्थेसाठी पाठपुरावा केला . ' आयआयआयटी ' ही संस्था अखेर नागपुरात स्थापन करण्याची घोषणा मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण यांनी केल्यानंतर एक दशकाच्या या प्रयत्नांना यशस्वी झाले .

खासदार मुत्तेमवार यांनी केलेल्या पाठपुराव्याची पत्रकारांना माहिती दिली . तत्कालीन मनुष्यबळ विकास मंत्री मुरलीमनोहर जोशी यांना ८ एप्रिल २००२ मध्ये पहिले पत्र पाठवून संस्थेची मागणी केली . केंद्राच्या टास्क फोर्सकडे हा प्रस्ताव विचाराधीन असल्याने निर्णय होताच नागपूरचा प्राधान्याने विचार करण्याचे आश्वासन त्यांनी दिले , असे मुत्तेमवार यांनी सांगितले .

राज्य शासनाने पुणे आणि औरंगाबादचा प्रस्ताव पाठवला होता . मात्र औरंगाबादने यात कुठलीच प्रगती केली नाही . ही बाबही दिल्लीतील नेत्यांच्या निदर्शनास आणून दिली . पंतप्रधान डॉ . मनमोहनसिंह , काँग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी यांच्यासह अर्जुनसिंह , कपिल सिब्बल हे तत्कालीन मनुष्यबळ विकास मंत्री आताचे मंत्री एम . एम . पल्लम राजू , आजी माजी राज्यमंत्री इ . अहमद , डॉ . डी . पुरंदेश्वरी यांच्याकडे सातत्याने पत्रे पाठवली . सोबत व्हीआयए , एनव्हीसीसीचे यांचेही प्रस्ताव जोडले . नागपूरचे जिल्हाधिकारी सौरभ राव यांनी चिचोली येथील ४० हेक्टर जमीन असल्याचे पत्र दिले . ते देखील दिल्लीला पाठवल्यावर खाते बदलण्यापूर्वीच कपिल सिब्बल मुख्यमंत्री चव्हाण यांना नागपूरचा प्रस्ताव पाठवण्याबाबत कळवले . मुख्यमंत्र्यांची अलीकडेच भेट घेऊन त्यांना सविस्तर माहिती दिल्यावर अधिवेशनात आयआयआयटीची घोषणा केली . नागपूरसाठी ही संस्था महत्त्वपूर्ण असून विदर्भातील तरुणांना उच्चशिक्षणाची संधी मिळेल , असे विश्वास मुत्तेमवार यांनी व्यक्त केला .

Its not just you, some years back TOI lifted famous pic of cafe coffee day by Nagpurian photographer without crediting him... they got it for free othewise they have to pay for such photos...

Reliance Power's Nagpur power plant starts operating at full capacity

Reliance Power has started power generation from its 300 mw second unit of Butibori thermal power plant in Maharashtra.

Power generated from the plant will be distributed to industrial and distribution utilities and will help reduce the demand-supply gap in Maharashtra.

The first 300 mw unit of the power plant started operating at full capacity in August 2012, an official statement said.

The Butibori power plant is environment friendly with zero effluent discharge. Also, the entire ash generated by the plant will be utilised by Reliance group's cement plant.

"With this our operating capacity goes up to 1,840 mw. Reliance Power's flagship project in Sasan is also progressing at a rapid pace and we expect to commission the first 660 MW unit of the Ultra Mega Power Project in the near future," Reliance Power chief executive officer J P Chalasani said.
