they are taking their sweet time on this one... when is the completion date now? is Damac Height gonna be taller? How are the too towers gonna look side by side? is it gonna be like 101/pinnacle/sulafa trio proximity?

as they are taking all the scaffolding down it looks like it is - a real disappointment.

I think that LED screens will be attached to the cables. Can't they still attach remaining cladding/screens by using the BMU?

Giantlight - Infinity Tower

Giantlight met with us to discuss an animation for Infinity Tower, Dubai. The model had to represent the architecture perfectly, as the lighting design highlighted the twisting shape of the building. Each floor is rotated by 1.3 degrees to achieve a full 90 degree rotation from the ground to the top floor. There are 4 powerful floodlights on the roof shining into... infinity, and a "pixel" screen, mounted on the roof, that is transparent during the day but then acts as a gigantic screen at night. Pixels were also scattered over the building's facades to twinkle and change colour as per the lighting design software. The architecture of Dubai is always enormous fun to model and the chance to adorn it with dramatic lighting just serves to make the project even more exiting.

So basically a large illuminated advertising hoarding - well I suppose the fees from the adverts will offset the maintenance charges. Still no improvement during the day though.

I just thought that they might add glazed glass panels that is reflective during the day and that allows light to pass through at night (similar to the glass at DXB). Such glass panels can also have embedded LEDs in them.

I would suspect (judging by the pictures in the link) that it will be lightweight LED panels similar to the ones bolted to the Metro bridges over SZR. Just hope they are advertising a better quality of product than soap and aftershave.

The cables does seem to have a wide diameter though, which suggests that it might be heavier than those net like screens. I guess we will just have to wait and see, but Silverene doesn't look bad, so I would assume that this tower will look good too.
