Don't know what is is about this thread, but for some reason I can't help thinking about the opening sequence of Paul Calf's Video Diary.
I'd love to see that again. For those who haven’t seen it the opening sequence see our hero justifying his existence outside the GMEX centre. In the background you can see early construction work on Barbirolli Square and general urban decay behind. Anyone got this on video? I'd love to see a screen shot that shows then and now. Sadly this isn't available on DVD and the video has been withdrawn from circulation. Can't even find it on mininova or bit torrent. Maybe I should petition BBC3 to screen this comedy classic.

This thread was supposed to be a celebration of what Manchester has achieved in 2005, and what it will achieve in 2006. That has kinda been blown out of the water.
Chris may as well lock this thread now. |

Indeed Accura
For what it is worth my personal highlight for 2005 occurred last Sunday, the 25th December. When found that a particularly kind relative had bought me a 'The Home Store' jumbo family sized Lasagne dish. I'm told this is a Matalan brand? I live alone and can only assume this is some sort coded message to tell me I don't invite the family round for dinner often enough. So hows about it. All round to mine for Lasagne after the Beetham Blade meet-up? Indeed this attractive gloss white dish would be equally suited to Sheppards Pie or Moussaka, hey I could even be a devil and cook up a fish pie. |
