there are, but not much as compared to other comparable cities..
lots of reasons..

- no huge real estate demand as such as there are no big industries yet.. so very less migration.
- lot of space to expand in all directions
- no specific vantage point for a great sea view/ river view/ mountain view etc.. so no added advantage of going to live on upper floors view-wise
- plus usually people think that it will be hotter on upper floors in summer.. might not be true, but considering summer heat in Nagpur, this concern discourages people to go for upper floors.. decreasing demand for tall residential buildings further.

but then there are many many 5-6 floor buildings all over the place..
and there are several 11 to 19 floor buildings existing and u/c.

Great photographs. And a big thank for that.

Recently read a very good arcticle about Nagpur on TOI....

Nagpur as the heart of India

Very happy to see Nagpur is known as a Heart of India.

Any new snaps of this great place will be highly appreciated.

Very true. From the photograph, it looks like the trees were planted on the road itself, but that time the road as such (asphalt was not poured) was not there.

But now, time came to expand the road to full capanity, these trees came on the the road itself.

Beautiful planning by NMC (or whoever has planted the trees).

They cannot cut so many trees now, or can they?

Nagpur Improvement Trust did a mistake while expanding all roads in the city around 8-10 years back. they didn't leave any space around trees for them to breath. As a result, many large trees have become weak and everytime there is a little stormy rain, such trees fall..
In newer city road expansions, they have taken care of this.. but nowhere did they cut down a tree directly for this purpose.
