I think it has to do with what you already said - trains will be moving below all the time & they might have practical problems to position cranes for accurate locating & bolting of heavy members. Also, not sure if bolted pre-cast segments are permitted by rail safety over such a long unsupported span.

It is narrow, it has only single set of track. The farthest portion in the pic is completed, and the nearest one is still u/c .

In Sampige Road station, apart from platform level, there are 3 more levels. One of them will be for ticketing purposes. Other two are for parking or one for parking and other for commercial establishments?

Mantri station civil works completed??
I thought it required still some 6 months to complete.
But if its really completed ,then hats off to Mantri developers. They have taken exactly 2.5 years till now.

And can we expect any difference in this particular station as its constructed by a private party??

On the left side of the pic is the Peenya depot (not visible here).. This viaduct is coming from the depot like a normal viaduct (with 2 parallel tracks). The branch in the Y fork going northwards is for trains coming out of the depot, while the other one (u/c) is for trains entering the depot..

The pre-cast pieces are not engineered for such a long span. They would have to be a lot stronger. Making stronger pre-cast pieces in small numbers for just one span would be more expensive than in-situ.

This seems wildly unrealistic to me. There are at least two spans on which they have not even begun construction. I don't see how Reach 3 can be opened in 2013. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't know why he keeps making these statements...CMTI(peenya) and Peenya industry station are at a stage where yeshwantpur station was in october 2011(if memory serves me right)..

They can obviously speeden things up but july?..Will try and post pics of these stations this weekend..

But i hope they do it..reach 3 is my home stretch..if they throw it open even by August, i will personally visit Sivasailam in his HSR layout home and give him sweets :-)
