Nunavik is in Quebec. I think Nunavut was just a typo.

Stunning! That top photo looks like a little town in Europe, doesn't it? Surely the most picturesque city in Canada.

Truly spectacular shots! I especially like the houses with snow right next to a road (the last pic) a lot... It truly makes me want to dream of yet another Winter Wonderland holiday. Is that still part of Quebec City, David, or is it part of the suburbs?

The second photo, Gastown, is one of my very favourite little corners of Vancouver. You really should plan a trip up there, FOD.. it is close to SF and a very beautiful city!

I'd love to do that... Instead of flying, I might end up driving since it's just straight up Interstate 5 nearly all the way through. Plus, with the road trip, I'll end up touring Portland and Eugene in Oregon, plus Seattle and Tacoma in Washington state... Oh man, a tour of the Northwest plus Vancouver would be a wonderful summer journey!

Awesome photos! I have to say, I've been all over the US and Canada and I must admit that Quebec City is by far one of my favorite places in all of North America. There is no end to the beauty and magesty of Canada! That's why I love this country so much!

Is is really that close? I'm used to Northeast driving, where a drive from Delaware to Boston looks short but can take 8 hours in the middle of the night if you hit traffic in one of the many cities that you go through. To me, San Francisco to Vancouver is like driving from Atlanta to Toronto. It seems like there's a lot of distance to cover.

San Francisco to Portland, OR would be around five hours already via I-5, much longer if via US-101. Plus, it discounts how much time will be spent at the border after Bellingham, WA and Seattle traffic.

5 hours isn't that bad, but Portland seems like it's still a long way from Canada. 5 hours is like me driving from Delaware to Pittsburgh. I would say that that's about the furthest that you can say that a place is "close". TO me, the outer limits of close places are places like Boston, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and the Outer Banks. Any farther and you're looking at flying being the only real option, unless grueling road trips where you sleep in the car are your kind of thing.
