I think S.Ve.Shekar would be a good leader if at all Brahmins wants to have a party/representative for their community.

I ve read that once Jayalalitha herself said Amaam Nan Papaathi thaan. I donno the story behind it.

Even if it refers to Brahmin women, if they consider it as derogatory then it shouldn't be used.

The censors saw the film on December 31, 1996 and opined that various characters in the film reflected the personal lives of some politicians and accordingly a certificate was denied. Following the producer’s protest, it was seen by an eight-member revising committee on January 2, 1997 which suggested deletion of some objectionable portions and cleared the film for “UA’ certification. Four dialogues from the film were subsequently cut.[11]

Two days before the release of the film, Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani threatened to mobilise public opinion against its screening in theatres, because he felt that it contained “objectionable” footage denigrating the Dravidian movement founded by Periyar.[12] The politician threatened legal action, if the film was screened in theatres without removing what he perceived as the “offending” portion, but Mani Ratnam dismissed that Veeramani was making rushed conclusions without having seen the film.[12]

A month after release in February 1997, the regional chief of the censor board G. Rajasekharan brought up the issue again and referred the film to the Indian Home Office for “advice”, threatening that if more scenes were not deleted, it might ultimately, lead to a law and order problem.[11]

that day itself i replied you. brahmins are called as parpans. brahmin ladies are called papathi.
but that is different from village goddess Papathi Amman.
Calling Brahmin ladies as "papapthi", calling a guy from brahmin caste(as per current system) as "Parppan" are derogatory.
Anniyan also quoted how few others are called. we can not call them with that specific caste name in public.

Hope it clarifies.

I think these guys want to show Tamil Films with "no muslims as Villain". but they will go and watch the movie where others are shown as villains.
No wonder, Historians might be asked to re-write the history to portray Aurangzeb, Kajini Mohammed in good image.
