KOSICE (Košice/Slovakia) | European Capital of Culture 2013

Košice is a city in eastern Slovakia. It is situated near the border with Hungary. With a population of approximately 240 000. Košice is the second largest city in Slovakia.



In September 2008, the city of Košice, as the first in Slovakia, was awarded the prestige title of European Capital of Culture with its Interface project.

Kulturpark
Revitalisation of a large area, the establishment of a new creative, educational and relaxing quarter of Košice, close to the historic core of the city.



Kunsthalle Kosice
The building of the indoor pool which is considered to be one of the architecturally most interesting buildings in Košice has not served its purpose for many years.

The transformation of exchanger stations into community centres and cultural points the SPOT s project is considered as progressive in community development
