KRG threatened with war against Iraq Iraq threatened that exxon will face the iraqi army if they lay their hands on the oil fields in the disputed areas. What makes you think Iraq will give up Kerkuk ? even though history tells us Kurds have nothing to do with this city and arbil, dohuk lets put that aside. Iraq is not in the weak position here, KRG is more relying on others such as Baghdad for the funding and Turkey for economic development and limited political support. Kurds probably won’t give up the idea that Kerkuk is theirs, but not like we care about that, why should we? its not a Kurdish city. |

But if it is true then I'm happy. They deserve a lot worse..they're terrorists after all. But again. This is most likely a load of bull..the same stunt was pulled by alarabiya..saudi claiming he was getting tortured during a tv phone call..turns out the call was all faked..and the alleged saudi prisoner was interviewed on aliraqia, who claimed he was not even hosted on alarabiya in the first place. |

since recorded history, we are famed for having revenge. it was the Babylonians who came up with the phrase "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" after all.
as long as we have past injustices , we are sure to have future injustices as well.. it's just the way Iraqis are.. vindictive, rancorous and bloodthirsty i strongly believe that these three qualities are very much endemic to the iraqi psyche |

There is abuse in SOME prisons but that specific video seems fake. Especially with the "Sab alsa7abah" part, Aljazeera is well known to support sectarian conflict in Iraq and they shamelessly do it openly with the exaggerated use of "Sunnis" an "Shias". Sunnis are always portrayed as the victims.
There is a problem with the iraqi legal system though. Sometimes the soldiers abuse even innocent people. The problem is some of the laws from saddam's time allow to arrest any person simply because someone else filed a charge against him. This law is abused to arrest people simply for personal conflict. That is one of the major issues that the protestors wanted to change. The "mu5bur alsuri" or secret agent is usually someone from amongst the local population that gives information to the army. Sometimes these agents give false information intentionally or unintentionally. When the army arrest the suspect they usually hold a natural bias that the suspect IS in fact guilty even when they have no evidence. In some cases the suspects admit to crimes they have not committed to stop the torture. The majority of the prisons have gained a better reputation since 2010, but the suspects in the hands of the intelligence or the special forces are sometimes even tortured to death.

. I assume that you are thinking yea the Europeans have been through alot but they have learnt from their mistakes why does some Iraqis not ? Well you see first of all , every neighbouring country are interfering in our policies making SOME people hating each other because of religion or ethnicity. For instance the demonstrators demand about cancelling article 4 terror. Nothing is wrong with the law I have read it. If you cancel it terrorists will be able to do anything without getting punished.

We just don't think its enough. after what those pigs have done, they should be tortured slowly until their eventual painful death. What do you expect us to be, the epitome of human rights, when we still suffer at the hand of these animals on a daily basis. We're still a young democracy with many flaws, even though prisoner abuse is one of them, i still think its a necessity in our current state. You have terrorist aiming all their efforts and strength into destabilizing us and killing as much of us as possible, how else are you supposed to deter such a threat, with a slap on the hand and a short prison sentence. These abuses wont stop now, probably not even in 10 years, however they'll only be a problem when the majority (or a large minority) getting abused are innocent. Until then, these terrorist deserve much worse.
