Amended plans have been submitted for this application so it will be interesting to see what the changes are.

Damn build that. It fits in perfectly up there with the other towers, and is a strong design. Great refinement to the design too. Credit to the architects.

Top of the tower would be RL 223.05 being Level 46 of 26 commercial floor levels.

So 195m above ground level, back to the height of the origonal proposal.

Fantastic design. Hopefully the amendments are enough to get it approved.

very good compromise

NLA looks to be right on the money for someone like BHP/Westpac/Optus or the high end financials

I tend to agree with you there. Its juts too easy to pick apart by protest groups.

Agree, atleast not by MCC as is, still way too tall with way too little setback on Collins st to fly with Peter Clark.
I also wish it was as tall as before, its such a awesome design that it deserves to be atleast 220m+, sadly i dont see either design getting up soon.

If it doesn't get approved, lets hope the design is used somewhere else. Docklands anyone?

gay...

tower looks unbalanced to the Collins Street front now (although looks awesome in the render of only the top bit of the building)

such a shame its been reduced - and really to no end. I thought it was the collins Street frotnage that was causing the problem but that hasn't been changed much?

great minds JP great minds, i thought the main issue was with the collins st setback, the new design doesnt overly adress that (made is slightly narrower) and the height has been reduced on the side facing 80C... it looks like a photoshop job, not a fan of the new proposal at all.

you would think they would have set it back a decent amount, and whacked on an extra 15 levels to compensate for reduced floor space... now THAT i would like!

JP and TD, take a closer look at the 2nd image down.

If you zoom in the specs show that the new design has gone from a setback of zero to a 5m setback. Total sq. ft has reduced, and number of floors reduced.

Seems the top 4 floors are now considered "skyrise" and would imagine these are going to be premium spaces, previously it did not have these.

Also, the image shows a different impact on the existing heritage building - less structural steel coming up from the building, so less of an impact on the streetscene, would imagine this will work in it's favour.

I reckon it is a solid design and while not as imposing as before, this could be enough to get it pushed through.
