L&T mall at panjagutta is long length wise but not breadth wise.

Demolition started adjacent to shopper stop mall where the road narrows in.

Opposite to reliance mall opposite jubilee hill check post, pillars have started coming up.

Mr. KCR seems is going to extremes on the Telangana sentiment. It is better to go for time tested CISF rather than SPF to protect Hyderabad Metro.

When will the SPF ever provide that level security if it's not given an opportunity

political intervention is not a good idea - esp so in the case security for major transit infra projects. thousands of pax will be using metro

spf can be used at other establishments such as mines, thermal power units etc

hyd had a history of security breaches ...

GHMC takes over empty portion in front of Aladdin building

In a major relief to scores of commuters travelling on the busy Begumpet road every day, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has finally decided to remove two major traffic bottlenecks on Friday.

Equipped with an excavator, the municipal officials took possession of the front portion of Aladdin building (near Shoppers’ Stop) after managing to tide over legal battles, which were on for more than a decade. The building is among the heritage structures listed by the government....
good job GHMC!

Gets consent

The Heritage Committee had long ago given its consent to hand over the open space for road widening purpose.

“We had the official sanction, but the owners kept creating hurdles. Over the years, we managed to tide over all the problems,” said a senior municipal official.

All through the day and into the night, the municipal staff were seen working though traffic was initially hit. “The open space is about 550 sq yards and we are most likely to get about 50 ft of road space. It will provide the much needed leeway to traffic movement as the 150-ft stretch gets almost halved as it reaches the site. We will start laying the road soon,” explained GHMC Assistant City Planner (Circle 18) V. Prasad.

The municipal corporation also managed to take over two floors of Jabbar building, adjacent to Aladdin building, that avoided demolition for many years.

The three-storied structure has several shops with multiple owners.

The ACP said the first and second floors of the building were taken over and demolition work would begin soon.

At present, negotiations are on with other inhabitants on the ground floor.

The GHMC official was confident that the talks would be fruitful and the building would make way to a thoroughfare wide enough to prevent frequent traffic disruptions as metro rail piers are about to be laid at the site.

Demand up for Houses on Outskirts
HYDERABAD: With Hyderabad’s real estate market evolving over the last 18 months, realtors feel that there is a shift in the mindset of the people, who are seeking to invest on the outskirts of the city and not just in prime central areas.

Areas like Shamshahbad, Adibatla, Uppal, LB Nagar and other areas near Srisailam Highway are fast picking up as realtors observe an increasing trend of upcoming projects in commercial, retail and residential sectors.

“People have to go to the outskirts, because the landlords in the city have become greedy and it is becoming infeasible to do any commercial projects in the city limits. B-Grade, c-grade projects in the core areas of the city are becoming non-feasible as the rentals are less and land prices and demands of landlords are very high,” asserts R Challapati Rao, national vice-president, NAREDCO.

Emphasising that the landlords were responsible for pushing the demand to the outskirts of the city, Rao, who is also the executive vice-president of the Telangana Real Estate Developers Association (TREDA), says, “The developers are sandwiched between the land owner and taxes. Property tax in particular, is very high in commercial areas. Parking is another major problem as landowners demand 50 per cent of parking space to themselves and there is no space left on the road.”

Experts point out that retail is the only sector which is doing well in the city’s central areas but that is suffering from a high mortality rate.

As far as residential market is concerned, majority of the developers have opened up projects on the outskirts, leading to a significant rise in demand. “There is definitely an increase in residential demand on the outskirts as you get good facilities for a cheaper rate. If the price is `4,000 to `6,000 per sq.ft in central areas, it would be only around `2,000 on the outskirts,” observes Ram Reddy, chairman and managing director, Ram Ark Builders.

Reddy, who has residential projects near Bollaram railway station, feels that the upcoming Hyderabad Metro Rail will further enhance demand for residential spaces on the city’s outskirts. “Projects like MMTS and Hyderbad Metro Rail are a massive boost to the residential market on the outskirts as they considerably reduce the commuting time,” he adds.

Barricading started on line 2 between Musheerabad and RTC X roads near hero Honda show room but the barricading looks enough for only one pier..could even see some digging in between. They might be doing it one pier at a time to avoid traffic congestion considering the number of bottlenecks and religious structures in the stretch

See the Uppal station pic, that doesnt have staircase shed either when it was done long back. Dont know why they share old updates sometimes you will find that on their G+ page as well. Proabably they are late in uploading these pics and the date they add on the img is the upload date. L&T Fb page is good but nowadays their every update pic has Hyderabadi Aladdin on it
