The white road is what existed earlier, which was basically an existing village road. That narrow road was acting as the only entry point to GIFT upto the last 2 years. Then they must have acquired land to build the new one (in yellow).

The turning portion will be deleted. The rest of the straight road section will be part of the new road.

Guys, I am just an enthusiast and have no knowledge of civil engineering and road construction and to Rishabh's point I have no visibility into ground conditions. I am a Database developer based in San Diego, USA.

So, forgive me for my ignorance. Whatever is going on in India and specifically in Gujarat from a development point of view is a vast improvement than what it was a decade ago.

At times, frustration creeps in because you know we can be further ahead.

Believe me, I share your frustration at times. But I am a bit weary now. This thread since the last 10 years has seen its fair share of trolls trying to thrash the project and prophecize its doom. None of them ever come back to see that the project has indeed grown beyond their wildest expectations. Maybe it could have grown faster but then like dozens of others maybe it could have flopped and died. So I am just appreciating any and all progress whatsoever.

GIFT City steals the Singapore show, wins all 4 international awards

Quote:
India’s first operational Smart City and IFSC, Gujarat International Finance-Tec City (GIFT City), has won four awards at CMO Asia 2017 on Wednesday in Singapore.

GIFT City was honoured in all 4 categories namely - Best Smart City Initiative, Environmentally Sustainable City, Smart Infrastructure and Best Use of CSR practices.

The Asia Smart City and Best CSR Practices Awards are Asia’s highest recognition of corporate organisations covering almost 41 Countries.
CMO Asia is dedicated to high-level exchange through leadership and networking amongst CMOs and brand decision makers across the industry segments, said Ajay Pandey, MD and Group CEO, GIFT City, here.

GIFT City is included among the Government of India's Smart City Mission Statement as a model city in green-field category for development of 100 smart cities in India.

Termed as India’s first ‘Operational Greenfield Smart City,’ GIFT City encompasses world-class infrastructure facilities many of which are being introduced in India for the first time. These include a city-wide underground Utility Tunnel (wherein vehicle can travel for all utility maintenance works requiring no further digging work), District Cooling System (centralized cooling system for the city), Automated Waste Collection System (India's first automated collection and segregation of organic and inorganic waste), City Command and Control Centre (single management point for the entire city) and potable drinking water supply across the city.

this is called bug in software language. but apart from this it doesn't matter how road is but how road will use?

will people stop honk in smart city?
how people will cross road in gift city? if you want to go in opposite building then? will it be signal system and zeebee crossing?

if in future there are too many building then it is not possible to have signal or zee crossing every 50 meter.

hope they will be in plan..

That road which merges onto the new road is now being discontinued. That turning section will be deleted. This is a part of a larger road re-alignment that begins 2 kms to the north. Have a look at the latest imagery in Google Earth.

SEBI approves launch of additional derivatives at GIFT City IFSC

"This will enhance the offering of NSE IFSC for India based products and encourage much greater participation from foreign investors to give GIFT city a competitive edge among international IFSC's," Limaye said.

BSE Managing Director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan said: "It is heartening to note that quite a few initiatives seeded in earlier years are showing good growth and potential for increasing stakeholder valuation."

He added: "Our international exchange continues to get attraction from investors... As a strategy, BSE strives to obtain leadership position in newer opportunities while consolidating and improving its market share in areas where it is at a competitive disadvantage."

Further, average daily turnover in India International Exchange, BSE's subsidiary at GIFT City, for July stood at $57 million, growing at monthly compounded growth rate of 96 per cent since commencement of operations in January.

In the second image we can see many buildings under construction or getting ready for construction. Anyone having any idea about them?

GIFT IFSC's stock exchanges exempted from certain LES requirements

MUMBAI, AUG 10
Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Thursday said it has exempted stock exchanges of Gujarat International Finance Tec-City International Financial Service Centre (GIFT City IFSC) from complying with certain Liquidity Enhancement Schemes (LES) requirements.

According to Sebi, the exemption has been made as the stock exchanges at GIFT IFSC are in a nascent stage and do not have access to net profits or free reserves.

"Based on the internal discussions and consultations held with the stakeholders and given the fact that the stock exchanges at GIFT IFSC are in a nascent stage and do not have access to net profits, free reserves, it has been decided to grant an exemption to stock exchanges at IFSC," the market regulator said in a circular.

"... subject to the condition that the exchange would create a reserve specifically to meet LES incentives, expenses based on the normative study of the LES in the domestic market and such reserves would not be included in the net worth calculation."
Vikram Limaye, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NSE, said the exemption was a step in the right direction to build liquidity, increase participation and develop robust markets.
