Its Cochin Shipyard - ERS line, not Alleppey.

Anyway both these lines do not exist now. For the Cochin Shipyard line, even the tracks have been completely removed and the road crossings tarred over. On the contrary, the tracks and even the level crossings are still maintained for the various branch lines that go to the wharfs in Willingdon Island.

It would be a good idea to revive the NAD line and extend it to Perumbavoor, and maybe connect it to Kalady. It will serve as a handy suburban line. It would cost only a fraction compared to a possible future new line of the metro to Perumbavoor.

Are they going to build the platforms in air? Where is the space?

Boss, yes it is ERS - CSY line only , i have also intended that ... for easy understanding i mentioned Alleppey because it is in the Alleppey direction , first the rail line goes and then take a diversion , just like guruvayoor route starting from Trichur .... For easy understanding we say as Shornur direction or from the shornur line from trichur where the path deviates.

Also i have read a couple of years back that the level crossing in the MG road may reerect any time if railway needs. Covering a railway line does not mean that a line is abandoned for ever.. The best example is the Old railway station line where Pachalam cross is covered with tarring . Now it may remove and the rail will be laid in its original position once the renovation works of Old railway station is over.

I was also think same... May be they utilise the space infront of first platform entrance...
But yet the report say .. 18 acres of railway land will handed over for international standard cafteria, Hotels , seating, Toilets . Not sure which is this 18 acres..
Hope they will consider building proper parking space .. may be multi level....

Current parking system sucks... maximum vehicles are parked in every space available that your vehicle get damage for sure.. and even parking a car for one hour will result in covering with crow shit....
