Prague & Paris

Have you been to both of these great European cities? How do they compare, in your opinion? Or is it strictly apples & oranges? Both have incredible art scenes. How distinctive are they from each other? Thank you.

In my opinion apples and cucumbers. Maybe I have different point of view than tourist because I live near Prague and I know it very well, but this cities are different in almost everything - Paris was historicaly capital of big colonial imperium, Prague was for nearly 300 years only provincial town. Prague has nice pictoresque old town with near lanes (but also partly demolished in 19th cent.), Paris have big boulevards (also very nice). Prague is much less multicultural than Paris (the only strangers living in Prague are mostly artists, some employees of foreign companies or teachers. They are same in one thing - living in the center is incredibly expensive

Like said above, they offer very different experiences. So if you ever ponder upon slashing one out of a European tour, don't. Instead there are more similarities between Prague and other major Central European capitals.
